Swollen and bruised eye after AMD injection
My eye has been achy for a couple days after an injection do u think maybe your eye is very dry have u tried any artificial tears I think I may have a little swelling day of and maybe day after but nothing bad hope you feel better soon
Thanks!! I have tried the artificial tears but with little success. After reading other postings, I think I may be allergic to either the anaesthetic or whatever they use to cleanse my eye. I've just started the injections and the first one, though uncomfortable, didn't really cause me a problem. It's this second one that been "hellish". I'll talk to my doctor when I go in for my third injection next month. I note that most of the people posting seem to go to clinics and some seem to have some difficulty accessing their physicians. Fortunately, I won't have that problem. I live in Canada and every appointment I have is with my specialist and he's very willing to listen to and address any concerns I might have. Once again, appreciate your input.
I had an allergic reaction after my 2nd injection in my right eye. My retina specialist changed the antibiotic drop the third time and thoroughly washed out my eye of the Betadine. The studies have shown that a reaction can happen any time. My left eye has had 11 injections and never had a reaction. Lucentis is what I get. I am in the USA.
Hi Pdh,
I had a similar problem. My eye lid and under bottom lid was very swollen after the injection. It was extremely painful and blood red in the white area. I begged for relief and it lasted a week. The doc said he hit a blood vessel. It only happened once out of 8 injections. I hope it improves for you soon. Cold teabags and/or a frozen washcloth on the eye helped. Eyedrops didn't help me either. Hope you get some relief soon!
Hi few days after my only one, my eye was red and bruised. In fact I looked as if I been in a fight. To cut a long story short, I have been having trouble since. I have had redness and itching on my face and hands also and it is ongoing since last year. The macula clinic, the GPS, the dermatologist all say its not from the injection, bit of a coincidence eh.!!! The macular clinic discharged me with no explanation.!!!
always be cautious and check with your doctor if redness or swelling or pain increases after injections. It's best to check just in case of infection
