Eye pain 3 days after Lucentis

So had my injection on Thursday pm and felt pain on leaving hospital but used to some discomfort. Felt sore and gritty so have been using hypromellose eye drops. Gritty feeling has gone but still feeling sore today, no redness though. Just called on call ophthalmologist who said I may have been scratched with eye clamp and use viscous drops. I have some celluvisc eye drops so using these now. Concerned, no vision problems in eye though

Keep in touch with your clinic if you get any more problems Millie, don't let it go on too long. Good luck. x

Just when I think I’ve got them sorted, I seem to end up in a pickle and get so worried always. My anxiety goes through the roof, thanks for replying x

Take some deep breaths and try to listen to some calming music, stress will make things worse. If it's no better in a day or two, ring again but try not to worry, easier said than done I know. Keep in touch. xx

I will try to calm myself down, I work on computers all day so if it’s painful tomorrow still I will just ring and see someone. Thanks for being so helpful xx

Hello - I've been having Lucentis injections for about 3 years & occasionally experienced some after pain & gritty feeling but always cleared up. I find the injection experience varies greatly according to whoever does the injection, with some seeming to be more skilled than others. A recent injection was amazing with only evidence it had been done was seeing medication bubbles in vision. The medication was delivered swiftly & precisely with no pain at all - wish they could all be like that. I'm always anxious before an injection especially if it's a new practitioner.

Hi, I’ve had a few like that and same experience. This time was so different, had a different injector every time. It makes a huge difference. It’s still sore so have an appointment later to check things are ok. Trying not to be too concerned as vision seems ok xx

The last Eyelea injections I had was a dreadful experience, due to a sloppy male nurse who sloshed anesthetic drops into the bottom of my eye and face and injection site was at the top of my eye. The pain then and for the following day was extreme. When I saw my doctor, who does the injections, for a check up, I complained about the nurse and his rough and sloppy actions and she promised me that when I have my next injection at the end of October she will personally put the anesthetic drops in for me. This has given me a little bit of confidence to have the next injection. I know we are on a conveyer belt situation when we are having injections but a little bit of TLC would go a long way. So pleased your last injection went so well, hopefully the next ones are as good. Best wishes.
