Mouth to mouth: the inside of my mouth sheds skin... - LUPUS UK
Mouth to mouth
Hi letslaugh63, I went through a spate of mouth ulcers but must admit never had the skin shedding. They were very painful and I tried everything on them it seemed I just had to wait it out sadly. They did start slowly and built up but I think mine was about 3-4 months but it was 10 years ago now so not completely sure. They best thing is to try and keep you mouth healthy, brushing teeth if you can. Mouthwash if it doesn't hurt too much eg corsodyl.
There are some extreme stuff you can try, search the web, when it was really bad I used to use oil of cloves, it didn't alleviate for long but sometimes even a moment of relief was nice.I didn't find bongela very helpful and I have not tried the iglu stuff they advertise on tv as mine had gone by then.
Good luck xx
I have the shedding ok skin in my mouth often during a flare, usually all over the roof of my mouth or down one side. I also get mouth ulcers which are right pain in the ass as they travel down my throat and last for an age...
However, I now use a mouthwash called Oraldene (half of the recommended dosage and diluted with water so its not so strong) and I have not had either of the above symptoms now for a few months, even mid-flare! You watch me get them now lol
Give it a try, it may take a while to work but like I say, I have been using it now for a few months and after the initial problem cleared, had nothing since. Hope it helps xx
I too have had that horrible mouth shedding skin, it came off in rolls and left the inside of my mouth quite puffy, and vulnerable to ulcers, that has happened twice now I seem to get sores in my mouth that come and go, boring and a painful nuisence, thanks for mouthwash tips, I tried salt mouthwash, ouch.
Hope all your sore mouths get better v quickly. Love x
Actually, I had mouth ulcers since as long as I was a kid. They never go away. the only subside and flare up as they please. I cant remember a time when i had no mouth ulcers.
It was when I was diagnosed with Lupus and then found out they had something to do with it; and is say "Oooohhhh....." and shrugged.
