Hi there I been on steroids injection for about three years and when I started this journey I was size 8 and I had a job. Now my daughter has to get me sitting up in bed. Oh how life has changed.
Hi you poor thing back pain is awful I know it`s very very hard to lose weight but give it a go, I joined Weight watchers and have lost nearly 4 stones in 2 years I somnetimes get despondant as I see other members who are more active than me losing their weight more quickly, I find the ww diet very good because you can eat well and still have your treats also love the class so friendly.
I ahve another 2 and a half stone to lose as I have got spinal stenosis and the surgeon who I saw would like me to lose as much as I can before he does the op, I find my leg pain is awful and now have got as rollator with a seat on once I got over the stigma of using it I find it so useful now and it helps to get me out. I am on zomorph twice a day which helps a bit also on tramadol 3 times a day along with all the other meds for my lupus, hope this helps a bit take care
I find the product Sleep Aid 25 mgs (Kirkland) really helps. It is a "sleepy" anti-histamine taken at bedtime If you do decide to try and are on other meds. check first in case of interactions. Good luck, believe me I know the distress lack of sleep can cause!
I too am on a lot of tablets (16500 odd a year). I am on a regime of high steroids and have put on over 8 stone since I first became ill and started taking them. I asked my consultant how I could lose weight and could I leave off the steroids as I assist my weight loss. He said "Do you want to be over weight and well or lose weight and be very ill". Not much of a choice really.
My appetite is non stop and I have stopped any further weight gain by drinking water. Gallons of it !! It works two fold, the water fills your stomach and you feel full. Plus your multiple trips to the loo help you keep a more stable weight.
I get a lot of back pain (Spinal Stenosis + Arthritis + 2 Slipped Discs ALL in the small of my back) and I am on Oramorph + slow release Zomorph. I have not had a good nights sleep for over 6 years. I also suffer from Sleep Apnoea, so have to wear a mask connected to a CPAP machine at night. I take two sorts of anti histamine + anti depressants. For my restless legs I take Ropinirole and Quinine.
Have you had your GP refer you to the Pain Clinic ? Have you seen anyone about your sleeping ?? Do you take anything for your restless legs ??
Hi I have recently been looking into magnesium deficiency and am surprised at what I found. I looked because I was feeling so ill and was told that my calcium was low but the tabs only worked when they had magnesium in them as well Gp shrugged it off and they don do a routine test for it but since taking it I feel much better an the chest pain has completely gone. I only had a mild back pain but that's gone too - definetly worth a look at
iam going back to the doctors as i cant put up with all this the most thing is well they 3 thing is depression pain and sleep the only thing is its in 2 weeks times xx thank you for all your help and advice xx
