Hi

I'm not sure if it was Methotrexate or possibly the steroid injections but I put on weight. Saying that, I am for no reason losing some weight again. If I stuck to a good diet I would be back tomy previous weight by now. But I love chocolate and wine ;) xxx

Hi, it maybe the steroids if your taking any that are making you gain weight. I have been taking methotreaxte alongside steroids but am the opposite, i lost nearly 2 stones in weight and hav also lost half my hair. X

Hi, I'm no longer on steroids, I am seeing the Dr next week Tuesday, maybe I'm retaining water.

Hi

I've been on Methotrexate for about 6 years now, and struggle to keep my weight the same, also hair has gone finer

Weight gain is not a side effect of Metho - but you can retain fluid - they talk about ankles swelling. That will make your weight go up. Try cutting back on salt. Also, hair loss is a side effect - not hair growth. I've been struggling with hair loss for years - I take Biotin and hope to find less in my hair brush and the floor and more on my head. I believe the Synthroid and Coumadin is causing hair loss. The good thing is -- I don't need haircuts often! Money saver!

I have been on MTX injections for over a year but due to all the other meds I am on am unsure if my weight gain is due to that and more likely to be the pregabilin I am on. MTX just tend to make me feel very sick and very tired. I hope you get some luck with the replies you get. I just watch what I eat and ensure I get some exercise daily even when I feel rotten

Thank you for the reply, I really should look what I eat, luckily for me MTX doesn't effect me that much I take 3 on a Friday night with folic acid and feel quite fine the next morning, hope you feel better soon.
