Dermaguard uv protective film

Hello. I’m sun sensitive and travelling in the front of a car in the summer is a nightmare. It makes driving difficult and it’s not the first time I’ve had to pull over and let my husband drive while I climbed into the back seat. (Our car came with pre tinted back windows) So I’m delighted to let everyone know that we’ve had clear dermaguard film applied to the inside of the car front windows plus the sun roof. I dared to go out driving ‘uncovered’ on Saturday - just for two or three miles - with no ill effects. And I went a bit further on Monday. Since then, this being Scotland, it’s rained constantly! However I’m optimistic that this treatment has worked and it really will change my life so I’m happy to recommend it. It says it blocks 99.8% of uv rays. The business we took the car to usually does van wraps and boy racer stripes so it was a bit of a novel experience for them but the guys were lovely and have done a great job. The business owner had never heard of lupus and sun sensitivity until I asked about it. Anyone who wants more info please pm me.

Oh that sounds really good. I don’t live anywhere near you so couldn’t use the same people but do you mind me asking how much it cost for reference?

it will depend on the size of your car. Ours is quite big and it cost £460.

hi Barbara, I you phone Dermaguard offices they will tell you where your nearest specialist is. I got it on my car after getting burnt and it’s magic.

Hello. I’m so pleased to hear from someone who’s had it done. As it’s only a week I’m still a bit wary but your post has reassured me to have confidence in it.

Thank you so much for reporting back on the effectiveness of Dermaguard! It's great to know that it actually works. We have a Fiat 500, so it's also good to see an indication of price too.

I don't drive, but for about 12 years I've not been able to travel much without feeling extremely unwell. I'm ok with fairly short trips, but I had to stop visiting relatives who were too far away about a decade ago otherwise I'd end up feeling like I was going to die (I'm sure everyone thought I was being overdramatic, but honestly it's the worst feeling ever!) I actually just about managed a fairly long car journey last month by wearing sunglasses the whole journey (and in the services), topping up suncream several times, drinking lots of water, stopping a few times on the way and wearing flight socks (I have quite bad circulation, so I think that was adding to the problem). I still felt pretty ill when we arrived, but didn't burst into floods of tears and desperately need to lie down part way through the journey like I have in the past. I probably should look into ways to improve the home too, as I do seem pretty sensitive to light in different ways.

Hi Barbara 🤗That's excellent news!! We're in sync again coz my husband put some UV film on the back windows of our car yesterday. I had some screens up but I'm sitting in the back now and I couldn't see out of the window properly. I got some UV protective film for cars from Amazon and it cost £10. I've got a question. Husband is a bit reluctant to put it on the front side windows just in case others can't see him driving. Can you see the driver from the outside of the car?

The reason I ask is coz I've got UV film on the windows at home and if hubby's in the garden I can't attract his attention coz the film on the windows is reflective. The film that I got for the car is just dark and it's not reflective so I'm thinking it would be ok to put on the front so I can sit in the front and have a drive every now n again.

It's a pain being so light sensitive so I'm really happy that you've found a solution for the car. Happy driving 🚗💜🌈🦋xx

Hi Kat. The Dermaguard film is completely clear. At first I was very wary as you couldn’t see it was there! I’ve tried to send you a photo of the car but it’s not letting me. Send me your email address on a private message and I’ll send you the photo.

I’ve put the photo on the main post. You can see the back windows are tinted but the front and side windows are completely clear. (You can see the car interior).
