Just saw the trailer video, shot in Brazilian Portuguese and checked out the Netflix website for a synopsis:
“…Follows the talented pianist Nina, who must overcome the challenges of dealing with lupus, an autoimmune disease that can attack any part of the body - the kidney, in her case. The young woman is surprised by a strong connection with Gabriel, one of the doctors on the team who attends her, who will help her overcome her insecurities in the struggle to play on stage with a great orchestra in São Paulo.…”
It’s a Romantic tragi - comedic film ?
The trailer made me 😭!
Perhaps others may disagree?
As a musician myself with lupus nephritis and SLE, I certainly could identify with the sudden onset painful joints and red, highly inflamed, unsightly fingers unable to perform but having to keep the show going.😱
Reminded me of the movie SHINE albeit with a character suffering mental breakdown.😱
Kidney Transplants are great but the do come with a price. The positives do outweigh the disadvantage. The positives are that you feel great provided the anti rejection drugs are stable but being immuno-supressed does make you vulnerable to all kinds of infections and different types of Cancers.. The Covid was traumatic. But, if I had to make the decision again, I would go for it.
