Radiotherapy

Hello everyone , I have had SLE and APS for around 25 years ; I took Hydroxy. for the first 4 years and then had to stop due vision problems. I was diagnosed with advanced Prostate cancer in August last year and was started on Hormone therapy aebout 4 months ago.

I am due to start Radiotherapy in around 6 weeks time and I am wondering whether any of you have been through this experience and whether or not it affected your Lupus / APS.

I am far from sure about accepting this procedure and since the diagnosis I have made many lifestyle changes to diet and exercise levels. I also take a number of supplements : Essiac Tea ; Zinc ; Turmeric ; multi vitamins ; Pomegranate juice ; Saw Palmetto and a product called Pomi T.

Any advice or opinions that anyone could offer would be greatly appreciated

Hi James , im sorry you are going through this . I had a lumpectomy followed by radiotherapy therapy 18 months ago , the radiotherapy was tiring and my skin did burn a bit but i was able to cope with rest and lots of moisturiser.

It would be worth having a chat with your oncologist about your concerns, mine liaised with rheumatology to work round my treatment ( rituximab) .

Best wishes with what ever you decide to do .
