Bit of a vain question about fake nails

I can't seem to keep either fake acrylic nails or Gel nails on for more than a day or two. I've tried lots of different gel brands and been to different nail boutiques, but it's always the same result. They peel up from the sides and then just fall off. I'm laying down most of the day, so it's not like hard work is chipping them off. Anyone had else this and what do I do about it?

every time I have had a gel manicure, when trying to remove it my nails get damaged and one even fell off! Use nail strengthening polish instead.

Hi, I've been wearing acrylics for 25+ Years but have not encountered this issue. I am aware, however, that hand and body creams leave a film that can contribute to polish and acrylic lifting.

Plenty of people have this issue. Sometimes it's dehydration of the nails causing flaking, the condition of your nails and other times it's the products. Best looking at nail specific forums for answers but a couple of things to consider are: are you using cuticle oil between appointments to rehydrate them? Are your nails damaged? And have you tried BIAB?

Have fun x

BIAB?

It's another type of nail treatment that often works if gels etc lift.

out of interest do you take a proton pump inhibitor such as omeprazole? And if so have you been taking it a long time? I’ve been on Lansoprazole for donkeys years and my nails were awful and my gel nails never stayed on either ( aside a tip is nail glue if the come off use some nail glue and stick them back on)

I’ve found that I was very low in magnesium due to the ppi and since taking magnesium my nails are so much improved they don’t break or flake or dry out any more or if they do I know I need some more magnesium ( after the initial loading up I just need some occasionally now) not sure if this might apply to you but just incase

Thanks,I do take omeprazole, I have a blood test due soon so I will get my magnesium checked then.
