We have been contacted by BBC Wales who are planning a year of content focusing on chronic illness/disability in 2023 – running a series of stories about people with chronic illness/disabilities. BBC Wales would like to see increased representation from these groups in stories that aren’t about disability/health issues. The hope is that, in this way, new voices might become regular contributors on a wide range of issues, long after this season has finished. We have been asked for our help to reach members of the lupus community who have interesting stories to tell, particularly in light of the growing cost of living crisis.
BBC Wales are also looking for a family who may have multiple issues across several generations, i.e. a child, an adult and a senior, so that they could then perhaps follow the journey of that family over a 12 month period.
There will initially be a week of content across all BBC Wales platforms, in English and Welsh, during the week beginning 16th January.
