Blisters

It has been a while since I made a post. I have had to have two major surgeries, so I have been out of commission. Starting to get over the surgeries, (had to have 2 abdominal aneurysms repaired, & my femur just snapped no trauma just catching balance and it snapped! Had to have a rod & a plate from knee joint to hip joint). Now I have some blisters that have come up, I don’t know if it is from the stress of everything, or if it is EBA (Epidermolysis bullosa acquisita, it is another autoimmune disease) the blisters came up on my penis, I went to my dermatologist, and they done biopsies on 3 of the blisters. Still waiting on results?

So sorry Tiras, your going thru such a rough time. Those blisters look really painful, stress can bring a lot of skin conditions on. Good luck for the biopsy results and you get help for them soon. Keep us posted. Xx

Thank you, the blisters are extremely uncomfortable, they rub, & where they cut the samples for the biopsies. My dermatologist told me to keep them uncovered as much as possible. She said to keep them dry. Can’t go with out nothing a whole lot.

Oh bless you Tiras. I get genital blistering regularly and they are so painful. It is the one thing that reduces me to tears more than any other symptom. I really hope that your biopsy results come back quickly. The only thing that eases my pain temporarily from the blisters is Instillagel local anaesthetic syringes. At least I can get to sleep when the pain is numbed. Good luck and let us know how you get on xx

The biopsy came back, they are showing I now have another autoimmune disease, it is a rare disease called EBA (Epidermolysis bullosa acquisita (EBA) is a rare autoimmune disorder that causes the skin to blister.). Going for blood work Tuesday, depending on that result where we go from there?

Hi Tiras, sorry to hear about your troubles. Skin sores are the worst, aren’t they? I have never heard of that AI disease but I am so glad you have a diagnosis. Your dermatologist/GP should be able to recommend treatment, now that they have a diagnosis, and once the bloods are back. It might be pills or topical treatments, or a combination of both.

I had a different skin-sore condition which turned out to be vasculitis, it gave me painful and itchy blister-type sores which looked a bit like chillblains. My dermatologist did a biopsy and diagnosed me with vasculitis. He gave me a cream to treat it, it’s for haemorroids, but it did wonders for the sores. I am also taking hydroxy which now seems to be addressing the root of the problem.

Please let us know how you get on, I will be most curious to hear how you go!
