I've started developing these strange small lumps on my hands, wrists and arms. They start off similar to blisters, but after a day they become hard lumps and itch like mad, then they disappear after a few days. I've even had them on my palms. Has anyone else had similar? Are they caused by the sun, maybe?
Many thanks 💐

Yes! I get these at odd times and in odd places!! They don't seem to need the sun to appear. I described them to my dermie as similar to chickenpox spots and boy do they itch. On my last appointment I had taken photos with me but I didn't see my usual doctor and the new young registrar had no idea what they were. So I'm afraid I can't tell you what they are but it's nice to know I'm not alone. I find if I zap them quickly with a dab on dermovate they go away in a couple of days.
Three appeared on my left arm two weeks ago. Are still there. Now two on the back and right side of my neck. They itch if I bother them. Not sure what they are. Have to admit I was mowing my lawn in 94 degree weather right before the first showed up. Don't have much choice since I live in Kansas and its summer 😔. Would love to know what they are!!!
Hi I'm new here (first post/reply). Sorry that you have these pesky itchy bumps appearing. I'm so intruiged if any one can shed some light. I've just started my journey with a rheumatologist and endocrinologist, so not been diagnosed with anything. I've been getting these exact strange spots for the last few months or so and they drive me mad!! Mainly on my hands and wrists, but sometimes on my arms and chest too. They itch so much and the other day my hand was so itchy I kept it in cold water and ended up taking an antihistamine. Is this a symptom of lupus then I wonder? It's all new to me.
Yes I get these too - on my face as well as other places. I've got one driving me mad under my nose just today. I think mine do relate to my autoimmunity/ Sjögren's - but I also have Pompholyx eczema on my hands sometimes and it's the itchiest thing I know of. I try to avoid steroid creams but occasionally use Betnovate on hands to knock it on the head.
Have you seen your GP or rheumatologist about this?
We are not medically trained here therefore we are unable to identify the cause of your rash-like symptom. We published a guide on lupus and the skin which you can read here: lupusuk.org.uk/wp-content/u...
Many people with lupus experience a flare of their symptoms when exposed to sunlight. The most common symptom is for rashes to appear on the skin, affecting areas that are frequently exposed such as the face, neck, hands and feet. We published a blog article on ‘coping with light sensitivity’ which you can read here: lupusuk.org.uk/coping-with-...
The only thing I get that itches like that is pompholyx eczema on my hands and feet - mine look slightly different but do go into red pinprick spots. It's only ever my left foot but is both hands. My four starts every time I feel run down so I think it's a flare sign for me .. both hands and feet are hitting me in this heat and sun though. Yay for me 🙈
