Hello everyone,

Sorry 'cutie pics' had to take a long break but its back by popular demand with these two 'cutie polar bear cubs' discovering how cold it is in Manitoba Province in Canada.. -30° would you believe?. No wonder they're staying close to mum!.

Hope your all snuggled up in the warm and keeping as well as possible.

As my health is so tricky , im going to do a pic fortnightly. Hope to keep it going that way. Really did appreciate your kind messages of support, thank you all so much. Lovely to be missed.

Keep safe everyone.

Aww, what lovely cuties they all are - both Mum and babies.😍 Thanks so much for posting Misty when you are feeling so poorly yourself. You have a big heart to think of us all when you feel so rotten, and that’s what we all love about you. Like SV says, we’ve all missed you and your wonderful pics. Thanx so much spotty for your lovely message. Im really touched that 'cutie pics ' was so missed and id had quite a lot of messages wondering how i was which is so kind and thoughtful.

So, as im feeling better in myself i thought id give it a go and the compromise is fortnightly so ill see how it goes. Always subject to change though.

Many thanx for your lovely email spotty. I hope your not drowning in too much paperwork. I will reply for the weekend.

We've got some 🌞, hope you have too and no storm damage. Have been thinking of you. Keep safe and well Xx

We are lucky to be part of such a thoughtful group on this forum aren’t we.🥰 It is so uplifting to know folk care about us. I’m managing to keep my head above the flood of paperwork for dietician and other specialist thanks Misty, but I had a major upset last week which set me back and my anxiety shot through the roof which of course had the knock on effect of making my Lupus flare a little. Just starting to settle back to normal again now.🙏🏻 Sadly no sunshine here, but at least it is dry so that’s something.👍🏻👍🏻 No rush to reply to my e-mail Misty, just as and when you feel like it. Take care. 🤗😘xx

Thanx so much krazykat, glad you liked the cubs. Ive got to reduce the steroids further before this 2nd adrenal test and its not going to be easy going below 5mg again. Did you get your dermy appt and i hope it was helpful?.

Off to rest now and you keep safe and take care. Xx🐻‍❄️❤🐻‍❄️

Krazykat26 profile image
Krazykat26 in reply tomisty14

Yes thank you..I've only just had appts with dermy followed very closely by rhuemy appt which was this morning. Needless to say the rheumy disagrees with the dermy!! Honestly these doctors eh? 🤦I'm sticking with dermys plan as they are the ones prescribing. I'm gonna increase MTX by one tablet(17.5mg) n then WHEN I FEEL READY I'll reduce by 0.5mgs on the Pred!!

Rheumy said no increase MTX by two tablets (20mg) n reduce pred by 1mg each month!! 😹I had to put him in his place there..I told him I'm more successful with smaller drops n to be fair I have reduced from 7 to 5mgs ON MY OWN!! 😹His attitude changed after that!!

So here we are again Misty..both on 5mgs n being encouraged to drop down..like it's easy as anything!! We know differently though don't we? Easier said than done Doctor!! 😹

It really is lovely to hear from you again..you have been missed 💜🌈😽😽xx

misty14 profile image
misty14 in reply toKrazykat26

Oh krazykat, i just love your message and style.🤣 Good for you telling that doctor that smaller reductions are better for you. He couldnt object as you've done so well to get to 5mg on your own!. Id love some of these doctors to be patients and see it from this side!!. Is the plan to come off them completely?.

You're right too to go along with dermy ways as they're the prescribers for your condition!. Its easy though for us to get stuck between them trying to carry out their wishes!!. I dread now having an Endocrine consultant as ive now got 3 consultants on the go. Greedy i know !!.

Good luck for reducing below 5mg, your right too to wait a bit and then try. don't forget if you feel specially poorly ask if your cortisol level could be tested.

Keep safe and keep an eye out for fortnightly cutie pics. Xx🐻‍❄️❤😻

You have to be that guy’s spunkiest patient! It sounds like he respected your determination and success in the end.

Rheumatologists do seem the most cautious about steroids. No one sees as much of the side effects as they do.

Hope for continued success with your reduction plan!

😹Thanks Kay 🤗This is a new relationship with this doctor and he's a bit arrogant tbh. But I do think he's very good n I listen to what he says..even if I disagree!! 😹It's my body after all n we have to advocate for ourselves don't we? Hope all's as well as it can be with you 💜🌈😽😽xx

KayHimm profile image
KayHimm in reply toKrazykat26

Very true, KK. It always takes time to establish a rapport with doctors. Things can change too. My least favorite doctor was my neurologist but my rheumatologist wouldn’t let me switch. He is the one I see most so I have gotten to trust him - and he has helped me the most.

Yes, we do have to advocate for ourselves. They won’t let us do anything that will cause harm - or more harm than good 😅 So we can keep 🥊🥊 away, right?

My neurologist added a medication to help with lifting heavy things because I was worried about caring for my new puppy. I should have told him about this problem a long time ago. He thinks I need more epinephrine. So I take what children with ADHD take. 😂 You know, I think he is right. I’m doing better! Hope it isn’t just that I am in a good phase and not the new medication. Cross fingers.

💕😊K

So pleased you liked them dianne. I nearly wrote, good thing polar bears don't get Raynauds in -30°. No good for us!!. Haha!.

I do hope the steroids have helped you this week. Thanx for your lovely message, will reply for weekend. I do feel better in myself otherwise i wouldnt have posted. Compromise is fortnightly so ill see how i go.

No I hope they don’t get Raynauds, that would not be good in those temperatures 🥶!Yes I did feel better on the steroids last week thanks Helen but they did nothing for my back pain that has been awful, I was going to ask my GP if I could stay on them a bit longer but have done a week and needed to get back on Arcoxia to ease this awful back pain, blimey if it’s not one thing it’s another😩😭.

Aww I’m so pleased the little mice are happy in their new home with their new friends, I knew they would be 🥰 and I’m really pleased to hear you’re having some bit better days, long may they last, you deserve a let up🙏

Take care my lovely , catch up soon, no rush.

Thanx so much ge for your lovely message. Glad you liked the cubs. Funnily enough i had already decided to look after myself more in 2022 so here goes, cutie pics fortnightly. Hope your all keeping well and safe. Did you get those xray results?. Hope its led to pain help. Xx🐻‍❄️❤🐻‍❄️❤

GloomyEeyore profile image
GloomyEeyore in reply tomisty14

I meant to post before now regarding my x-ray results. They came back clear and I was told nothing could be done except the painkillers I am already taking. That’s the highest dose Tramadol and paracetamol. I’ve also to keep moving. Talking to a nursing friend of mine she thinks that a lot of the symptoms, back pain, hair loss, severe bruising, exhaustion and clicking painful joints could be Elhers-Danlos syndrome. This was put to my GP and she is going to talk to my rheumy. Am due an appointment at rheumatology this month but have not had any word of one.We are all keeping well in my house but unfortunately my niece tested positive for Covid on Monday 😪 Hadn’t visited us for two weeks so we should all be fine. She is only 14 and really isn’t very well with it at all. Like severe flu and has lost her sense of taste and smell. Hopefully she will start to feel better soon. Xx 🐻‍❄️ 💐

misty14 profile image
misty14 in reply toGloomyEeyore

Hi ge, thats a clever nurse friend you have as Ehlos Danlos syndrome is rare. Sounds like it could be as your in such a lot of pain. I do hope you get your Rheumy appt soon and you can discuss it with them.

So sorry your niece is so poorly with covid. Thank goodness she wasnt staying with you and your all ok. Its so much more prevalent now. 🤞that she improves soon. My schoolfriend had it mildly a year ago now and still hasnt regained her taste and smell. Hopefully your niece will be different.

Keep safe ge and i hope you hear soon. I was able to book my gastro appt today as it was overdue. 🤞for you. Xx🐻‍❄️🤞❤

Thanx so much cecily for your lovely mesdage. Glad you've enjoyed the cubs. I had awful abdo pain xmas and new year trying to reduce steroids. Ive since learnt from Endo consultant she wants me to go lower for adrenal test but im not sure ill be able to. Got to try though!!. How have you been?. I do hope 2022 is a better year for you. Keep safe and big cwithches back. X🐻‍❄️❤🐻‍❄️👍

CecilyParsley profile image
CecilyParsley in reply tomisty14

Oh I am so sorry to hear that Misty. I hope they can sort out what is wrong and treat you. Horrible way to start the year for you. As for me I think I must have 💩💩💩💩💩 on someone in a past life. I continue to fall, my leg just gives way. Thank God for my lifting cushion. Then the leak in the ceiling which turned into having the whole upstairs bathroom ripped out, then my brother in law passed away. It has been trying for sure. I actually have a telephone appointment with the GP tomorrow. To be honest I don’t hold out much hope but I am going to try to explain how awful I feel, fatigue, pain, falls, ulcers, bruises, feet swelling. Fingers crossed eh? 🤞🏻It has to get better than this. On the plus side asI was using most of my pension to sort the bathroom, I have got a walk in shower with a big rainforrest head, push button controls and a high toilet so I can throw the awful toilet raiders away. They hope to be finished before the weekend. I look forward to not bashing myself, tripling, falling out of the old one. I will be a new woman. You look after yourself and please let us know how you get on xxx

misty14 profile image
misty14 in reply toCecilyParsley

Oh cecily, im so sorry at all your problems and just hope talking to gp will be helpful. You can't keep falling with that leg. Lovely out of horror you have a much better adapted bathroom. 🤞its finished for the weekend. You won't know yourself.

Keep a look out for fortnightly 'cutie pics' and updates cecily and you keep safe and take care too. Xx❤🐻‍❄️❤

Lovely picture Misty. ❤🐻‍❄️👍

I really enjoy cutie picture posts - one of the best things, of the many good things, on this wonderful forum.

I love the research that goes into them - I learn about the situations the animals face - a bit like us. Also how it helps us update each other regularly too.

Thinking of you as you try the steroid reduction and await the pain clinic appt. Please rest up, and find nice things to chill out with..

Lots of healing hugs and best wishes🙏🏻 🤗🤗😘💕XX

Thank you striated for your lovely feedback. Im so pleased you like 'cutie pics ' so much. I do try to keep it interesting with different 'stories' or animal species improving. Otherwise it could be 'cute' overload which is boring after a while. Its lovely to hear im succeeding and making a difference. Its helped me keep my spirits going too as ive enjoyed sourcing and planning it.

Its my resolution for 2022 to also have more 'me time' in my day. Im chanting boundaries at myself so i hope your doing it for yourself too. 😀

Its a very special forum for us all and its lovely people like yourself who really do help keep it that way.

Good luck with hcq. Keeping my 🤞 for you. Keep safe. Xx
