Can anyone point me in the right direction or website regarding the above , I got the letter from rheumatology saying that I’m eligible for the 3rd covid vaccination due to to been severely immune suppressed .
Booked with my practice doctor for the vaccination .
A week later I thought I’d double check that I’d had the 3rd vaccination , my doctor took two weeks and a reminder to tell me I’ve had the booster , and that there is no difference in the booster and the 3rd vaccination . ????
I have mentioned this also on my telephone appointment with my rheumatologist , he said no and that I should have had the 3rd vaccination and it’s not the same has the booster , I queried it a bit further , and he seemed to brush if off , has if not wanting to get involved . I’m a bit worried that I’m not fully vaccinated , any helpful knowledge , factual information would be helpful .

What a nuisance. I suspect you have a fight ahead to get your GP to change your NHS record to show it was a 3rd dose not booster in order to then be able to get the booster when due. The actual vaccine you received as a “booster” is very likely the exact same one and same dose you would have received if they thought they were giving you the 3rd dose of the primary vaccine course you should have received.
My friend is a nurse at the covid department she said there is no difference they just give you the same vaccine and call it booster. It's all the same, just make sure you have the same brant Pfizer etc. But all in all it doesn't make a difference its the same dosage just as if you were having the first vaccine, you will be getting the booster 3rd the same as the first.
Just had a chat with her she said the only reason people go for the same one is the side effects, if you were fine with the vaccine you got first stick to it, if not ask the doctor when u go in but apparently its best to stick with the same vaccine purely based on side effects. The 4th jab she said its likely to be a yearly thing like a flu jab, but things can change so I guess we just need to monitor government announcements. If I know more I will update. Xx
Hi Willow1414I queried this with Lupus UK and the reply said it is exactly the same - it needs to be recorded with the GP as a 3rd dose so that if it is decided to give us a booster later on, we will pop up on their records.
We have heard here in US, that it can be HELPFUL from several studies to MIX rather than MATCH the “ORIGINAL VACCINE” for the BOOSTER, especially with the SINGLE SHOT “Johnson & Johnson”.
