Just had to show you 2 week old Nandi, the white rhino trying to keep up with mum as they explore their enclosure at Whipsnade Zoo. I hope it makes you smile . π
Do hope your all having a good weekend and keeping as well as possible.

Lovely pic. Baby Rhinos are so small! Really brightened my day.π¦ It was a nice day here until around an hour ago. Cold but dry, then the rain came on π§ βοΈ Managed out for a short time today despite the terrible pain I am getting in my left hip. It is right in the ball and socket joint. Knees are bad too but if I just sit I stiffen up which makes things worse. Iβve to go into the surgery on Wednesday morning for my flu jab. It might be my GP I see as she was phoned yesterday about the pain I am in. Asked about my flu jab as I hadnβt been called and she booked me in for Wednesday.
Hope your foot pain isnβt too bad. Xx π¦ π π
Hi ge, so sorry about your hip pain and awful joint pain generally. I hope going out today hasnt made it even worse. I thought of you tonight as my joints are flaring too. Specially painful is my wrists and ive got a new swelling at the one joint. When yours were bad and you had an ultrasound did you have a swelling too?.Im glad your gp will see you about all this as your hip may need an xray. Good luck for your flu jab on weds. Hope you'll be ok. π€. I booked mine for 29 th!.
My foot is very painful thanx for asking ge. I had a big outing and its taking a long time to recover!!. Only a fortnight to go until my podiatry appt. Im able to speak to rheumy nurses on mon as well about my flaring.
So glad you liked the baby Rhino. They are lovely animals and its wonderful there are these conservation projects for them.
Hi misty, I donβt remember having any swellings when I had the ultrasound of my knees. Was told by the sonography that there was fluid on my knees. The rheumatology appointment I had not long after was a registrar who wasnβt a lot of help. Touched my knees and said βno, there is no fluidβ. I think that imaging showing fluid is more reliable than a gentle fingertip touch of the joint!
Hopefully will be ok after my flu jab. Never had a problem in the 10 years I have been getting one so fingers crossed π€π» Xx
Good luck for your jab ge. π€ you keep that good record going. 10 years is a long time!. I was thinking more of your wrists ge which was longer ago i think!. We're not supposed to have swellings with our type of arthritis.
Hi Misty this baby rhino is just too cute - isnβt nature wonderful - Iβve been busy knitting a Christmas jumper for Bea and then will do one for Mira , weather has been lovely here in Bristol. Hope your enjoying Strictly as know you like it and hope your not in too much pain xx
Thanks so much svfarmer for your lovely message and good wishes. I can't wait to see Bea and Mira in their christmas jumpers. Supercute they will be!. Im so glad you liked the baby rhino!. I wasnt too sure if it was cute enough.
I am loving Strictly svfarmer as its such a happy, inspiring show. This year specially as there is a deaf actress competing for first time and she's learning to dance thru feeling as she can't hear the music!. She's lovely too so i want them to do well.
Have a watch its lovely escapism!. Thanks so much for remembering!.
Its a fortnight to my podiatry appt and i just can't wait. I had a big outing this week, 2 shops in town ive wanted to go into for 2 years and foot really didnt like the walking!. Im glad i did it but i do need help with it as its not recovered yet!. Ridiculous!.
Have a lovely week , we've had the lovely sun too. Not sure its lasting!. Keep safe. Xxπ¦β€π¦π€π¦β€π¦π€π¦β€π¦π€π
Iβm so glad you got to go to the shops you wanted to go to but so sorry that your foot it so painful, I canβt imagine how much you are suffering - thank goodness your podiatry appointment is just around the corner - have a good week yourself π€π₯°
Thank you svfarmer for all your support. I really do appreciate it. Its really tough coping with the foot pain as it takes a long time to recover. Ive been out today and its complaining but i have to live and need help. Im counting the days till podiatry appt, they seem to get slower!. Have a lovely week. Xx
Hi Misty. I love the pic of Mum and baby white rhino. I adopted a male rhino named Notch many years ago and during the 3rd year I was informed heβd gone missing. They suspected heβd been killed by poachers for his horn but his body was never found. So thank goodness for places like Whipsnade where Nandi and Mum will be safe from such evil people. So thank you for the smile of sweet baby Nando trying to keep up with Mum. π Hoping you are enjoying your weekend Misty. Weβve recorded Strictly and will watch it tonight. Horrible drizzly day here. I hope it is better with you. Keep safe π€πxxxx
Thats wonderful spotty that ive brought back lovely thoughts of Notch with this week's pic. Not so good he went missing and was probably poached!.
Thank goodness as you say for the conservation projects that are going ahead at wildlife parks like whipsnade and longleat.
Thank you for your lovely message that i'll reply to in the week. I just want to say as ive had a colonoscopy, the prep for it beforehand can make you feel lousy. Not the best timing, thinking about your trip next day for your OH!.
Isnt it always the way, medical appt's clashing with pleasure when there are other weeks!.
We've got lovely πtoday so i'll send some up to you. Probably wet tomorrow. We've been so lucky with the weather!.
Have a good week and ill be in touch soon. Xxπ¦β€π¦
Thanks for telling me about your experience of a colonoscopy Misty. ππ»It is hubby having it rather than me, but I might be postponing the trip to Skye anyway if we donβt hear about our flu and booster jabs before the 20th which is the last date I can cancel free of charge. Iβll keep you posted. Lucky you having such lovely weather . π₯³ Yes please do send some sunshine this way. Iβm beginning to forget what it looks like! π€£π€£ Iβll look forward to hearing from you later in the week and hope your foot pain has subsided a bit by then.ππ» Hugs π€πxxπ¦ππ¦π
π€spotty you hear about your jabs before the 20th. Thats not long!. Ive got a jab tale to tell about mine so ill pop up.soonish. Take care. Xxπ¦β€π¦
So pleased you liked it cecily. I did think the baby was cute so im pleased others have too. How did your physio appt go?. Helpful i hope. Xxπ¦β€π¦π€π¦β€π¦π€π¦β€π¦
Yes babies in whatever form are delightful I think. A friend has got a new Doodle puppy and OMG cuteness overload. The physio went well. The physio I saw remembered me from the OAK class I did two years ago and was quite shocked by the deterioration in my gait. He advised that both legs are seriously unstable which is why I am falling. Unlike the telephone physio appointment who said I should practice standing on one leg, he said floor exercises are too dangerous. My tendons are so tight they are giving when in pain causing me to fall. I have three exercises to do three times a day for a month. He will then see me to reassess. So far they are very painful, even the gentlest of stretches hurts but it will get easier I know. Thanks for asking Misty. It means a lot xxx
What a relief cecily you have finally had good advice re your knees. It comes to something when different physios say different things. Its all a matter of opinion isnt it though?. Frightening if you'd continued with 1st ones advice but rather proves the stupidity of the phone consults!. It will be hard and painful at first exercising your tendons but hopefully as you rightly say , you will improve. π€. Glad he'll keep an eye on you too.
Strictly was lovely wasnt it, seeing the classical dances more. Shame that Greg and karen were voted off so soon. Dan had improved and i did like judy's touching dance to her parents!.
Yes it was a relief. The ladies in reception were giggling at me as when I rang to book the appointment I said stand on one bloody leg? I struggle with two. They said he has not had you doing a flamingo has he? I said no thatβs next month π. I finished assembling my wonky cake stand but it is very thick clay so will take a while to dry before I can paint and varnish it then get it fired in the kiln. Strictly was fabulous. I loved Adam and Katyaβs Argentine Tango. I thought it would be a disaster but those lifts. I still donβt understand why the rave about Tilly. She is not bad butβ¦. Rose struggled a little this week but I find her amazing. To not hear music yet dance with such rhythm is incredible. I love John and Johanus too so beautiful. I am glad Greg went. The choreography was cringeworthy and who the hell fitted those trousers? About three sizes too big. I love being an armchair critic . Good luck with your podiatry telephone appointment xxx
Thank you cecily for your support and laughs.π€£I agree with you re strictly. I did like greg for himself but not those awful outfits!. You'd be good on Gogglebox!. Ive just been offered a f2f rheumy appt sooner by the nurses as struggling on 4.5mg steroids generally and my appt is due. Our dept is 11 months behind seeing people and one consultant less so no wonder!.
Just can't wait for podiatry as foot is so painful!. Well done with wonky cake stand. Looking forward to seeing it. Id love to do something like that!.
Take care this week with those knees. No more falling. Xxπ¦β€π¦β€π¦β€
Oh good news re the Rheumy appointment. I hope the Podiatrist can see you very quickly after your telephone consultation Misty. I love Gogglebox but absolutely find myself irritated to hell by Giles and Mary gggrrr Take Care lovely xxx
I hope he can too cecily and if he's not willing to do anything then im going back to the surgeon. He's given me an open appt and i need action!. Thanks so much for your lovely wishes cecily lovely. Chat again soon. Keep safe. Xxπ¦β€π€π¦β€π€π¦β€
Misty, Thanks for the cute pic! I keep thinking about your foot pain. I got a second opinion on my bunion, hammertoe, arthritis, previous stress fracture and other bone issues with my left foot this week. I am trying to avoid surgery. The hammertoe is so up in the air so I avoid shoes for the most part. I am trying the conservative treatment recommended by this new doctor. It is inserts and New Balance shoes to be worn most all of the time. I just got the shoes and inserts. The first experience has not been pleasant, but will give it a try. It seems feet are a rather difficult fix. I hope you get some relief soon.
Oh pumpkin, im so sorry you've got awful foot problems too!. No wonder you've been so supportive. Funnily enough its my left foot too and my problems started with stress fractures!. Yours must be so painful too!. Ive also had a lot of inflammation in my feet over the years and it sets up problems long term doesnt it?.
Ive got special insoles and was recommended by podiatry to buy New Balance trainers and neither is solving my pain. I can feel the nerve irritating so much!. π€tightly crossed you fare better with them. Keep me posted as i hope you can avoid surgery.
I had a special outing into town this week and foot just didnt like the walking!. Fortnight for my podiatry appt which i can't wait for even if its a phone one!!. Its better than nothing.
Have a better week and keep safe. Xxπ¦β€π¦π€π¦β€π¦π€π¦β€π¦π€π¦β€π¦π€
Hi Ladies, Misty the Rhino pics are adorable and I also am glad there are conservation efforts to save precious animals. I'm so sorry you and Pumpkin and I'm sure many others are suffering with foot pain. I kept putting off surgery for my ginormous bunion on left foot and I finally had enough so I had surgery 2 weeks ago and it is painful to say the least but medication helps..a lot..lol. I tried different shoes and whatever else I could think of and it didn't help so now I'm wearing a boot and foot is wrapped, in 2 more weeks I'm hoping to get rid of boot and stitches fingers crossed π€ the pain is letting up so using less medication and knowing it'll get better and better makes it worth the surgery so my advice is to get the surgery because without feet life is miserable. You've suffered for a long time so what's another month if you'll be able to πΆββοΈ walk again with much less stress and pain on your feet, legs and back, I'm looking forward to it π and hope I won't be disappointed but I do know it has to be better than it was. π and it'll look better and maybe I'll be able to wear pretty shoes. Just something to think about. Stay safe and healthy as I really appreciate the way you all relate to each other.
Thank you so much olderkitten for your lovely message and good wishes. Im so glad you took the plunge for surgery and slowly your pain is improving. When i had my foot op i had the similar footwear as foot was completely bound up. I had to keep using it after the bandages came off as my foot was very swollen and i couldnt fit into any shoes. It was the most comfy for a while so don't be surprised if it happens to you. π€ you have your stitches out soon and you'll be able to wear those pretty shoes you want to!. I hope ypu will treat yourself to a pair for all you've gone thru.
Despite all my drugs i had fantastic healing, it was so quick and i was lucky not having ulceration or infection!.
I do so agree with you olderkitten that problem feet make for misery!. Ive so found this out in the last 2 and a half years. Ive had just 2 weeks of a normal foot. Im so hoping this trapped nerve ive developed can be treated with a steroid injection as its become more painful otherwise i could be facing another op to get relief. The nerve just won't stop and it is a complication of the surgery ive just had!. I hope you don't develop it.
Ive got a tel podiatry appt on 30th to discuss it further when i just need action!. I hope you have the stitches out in a fortnight. Keep us posted. I want to thank you all for giving me such ongoing support with my feet. You all help keep me going so i m glad you liked the rhino pic too.
All the very best for your recovery. Keep safe. Xxπ€β€π¦π€β€π¦π€π¦
Hi weathervane, so glad you liked the rhinos and strictly. I loved it too seeing the more classic dancing was such a treat. The standard is so high and i was sorry to see greg go. He and karen were a good team. Awful outfits though, didnt help heh!?.
Ive just been offered a f2f rheumy appt as im struggling on 4.5mg steroids. Could help foot too. Our dept is 11 months behind as there one consultant down in a busy dept!. No wonder. Im just so pleased after speaking to the nurse this aft.
Ive managed to book my flu jab for 29th as my covid one will be next month now. I dread it as usually react but its so important to do!.
Hope your having a quieter week free of appt's this week.
Ive seen friends today for lunch which was wonderful. Lots of laughs.
Thats brilliant that youβve been offered a f2f appointment, do you have a date yet ? I think our rheumy department is the same ,very short on staff . Good luck with the flu jab , i just had a bit of a sore arm , hopefully you will be ok .
The outfits in strictly are usually spot on , Gregs was a bit dodgy especially the blue trousers π³ .
Take care , hope you have more outings with your friends π€π€πππxxxx
Thanx so much weathervane for your lovely message. I don't know when my rheumy appt will be yet. She said it will be awhile, should be before xmas hopefully. It will come by post. . Ive got to speak to my gp on weds as need his approval for extra steroids for chest after flu jab if i react which i ususlly do!. If im prepared it won't be needed!. π€.
May not see friends till dec now and it depends on cases. They're going up here again. How about your area?.
Looking forward to Sat. Strictly is flying by!. Keep safe and well. Xx
Thanx so much dianne, so pleased this one did. I hope you had a lovely, cuddly weekend!. Shame Greg and Karen went on Strictly!. It was a lovely show again.
Thanx too for your lovely message and what a pic of mr πΊ. Amazing to see them more Diane!.
I will reply soonish as busy day today. Hope you have a better week with not too much chasing up.
Thanks Helen, hopefully a quiet week now π€, yes we enjoyed the dancing too, it wasnβt Greggβs best dance so I thought he might go , theyβre all good so itβll be hard to see any of them go now, pleased to see Rose is still in π₯°. I managed to have a little walk in the park Saturday with the girls and yesterday with my brother, nephew and all my girls which was lovely. Itβs feeling much cooler now and I have a chilblain on my finger, just hope I donβt get any on my feet, theyβre miserable little things, my feet are cold all the time but sometimes in bed they go from cold to like a burning cold , do you ever get this with your feet? Iβm worried about not being able to have a hot water bottle to keep them warm in hospitalπ¬.
Big hugs π€ π glad you like the fox π¦ they were both in the garden late afternoon yesterday π¦π¦
