Hi! Last week I knew something else was off, but it wasn't until Friday, that I knew it was a UTI. Excruciating pain, fever, constant painful trips to the bathroom, etc. and a strip from Amazon showing leucocytes, protein and blood. So Sat. morning went to Express Care. 3 hours later (not so express), I was on the way to the pharmacy to get Leviquin which I had never taken. At the pharmacy, the pharmacist came out to talk to me to say it can interact with Plaquenil and cause arrythmia which I already take meds for A Fib and PVCS. She said she would call the doctor from the express care to get something else. So I returned home to wait. In the end she reached my GP and he changed the prescription. I am so fortunate that the pharmacist was conscientious and doing her job well. Another 3 hours later,Ii was able to take the first pill. I have taken Plaquenil and the generic for 25 years and luckily whenever had to take an antibiotic, I had never been prescribed one that interacted until now. Again, I am just so grateful to this pharmacist.
Healing hugs to all.
