Tested positive LFT do I stop meds?
I suspect you need to call the Covid helpline if it still exists.
However this
journals.sagepub.com/doi/fu...
says
"... consider possible medication changes such as dosage, route and frequency of administration for those patients with confirmed COVID-19 disease. ...
Steroids, hydroxychloroquine and sulfasalazine should be continued but other disease-modifying anti-rheumatic drugs, JAK inhibitors and biological therapies should be stopped temporarily.
... Many professional societies in the UK, including the British Society of Gastroenterologists, Association of British Neurologists, British Transplant Society and British Society of Rheumatologists have produced guidelines relevant to their patient groups. Guidance from The British Transplant Society (BTS), entitled ‘Guidance on the management of transplant recipients diagnosed with or suspected of having COVID19’,11 divides recommendations depending on the severity of the COVID-19 disease. It recommends that all patients with COVID-19 should have their anti-proliferative medications including mycophenolate mofetil and azathioprine withheld, regardless of disease severity. "
Think the hydroxy depends on how ill you become, the MM should be stopped but you need to check with a clinician
PS - get well soon!!!!
I would contact your rheumy at this point for advice or your GP if you can't get hold of your rheumy.
No, stay on meds. Take antihistamine and antacid to reduce the nasal drip. Drink warm drinks and rest. Try to lie upright.
When my daughter tested positive, her consultant told her to stop taking her mycrophenalate and increase her prednisolone.
Thank you everyone consultant has come back to stop taking mycophenolate and keep taking hydroxy - looks like the vaccines are doing g what they meant to fingers crossed 🤞
Ask your GP and your specialists. Ask about covid treatment options, like MABs and ask about a CRP and DDimer test to rule out severe covid possibilities. Hope you recover quickly and that you are fully vaccinated. The vaccine is working very well to keep people from acquiring severe disease and hospitalization.
