I had a PIP assessment 4 months early, which seemed strange.
I had 4 operations last year, including the removal of a kidney for stage 4 cancer and a reversed colostomy, I almost died. Also pneumonia 4 times, pleurisy and 2 very serious chest infection. I also have a growth in my pituitary gland.
I was unable to walk for some time, now use a stick. Waiting for a major operation on my spine. Also have Fibromyalgia, high blood pressure, diabetes and rhumatoidarthritis.
I was wasn’t examined, told I didn’t need to be, and told to just sit on the bed, I was in pain and hadn’t slept properly in weeks due to back pain plus headaches from the head growth. I’d been into hospital and seen GP weekly.
However, the PIP girl said she examined me plus the report said had GP and Rhumatologist reports that I was well. I spoke to both who were horrified and said they were happy to be contacted to put it right as no one has contacted them.
I tried to fight it but PIP refused to come and examine me and said case closed.
It’s unbelievable, I’m far worse now in health.

ah gee they really do like to kick and trample on you when you can't defend yourself. there are a few benefits assistance things on facebook, benefits uk and chronic illness benefits advice group. they can help sort things for you. you might have to search a bit as I don't think I have the complete names. good luck.
That’s outrageous- I hope you will appeal this and I’m so sorry sounds like you’ve really been through a very tough time and I expect this just tops it off - sending big hugs 🤗
I am so sorry to read your post. Its difficult enough dealing with the hand you are dealt without being treated like this now.
Although I have no personal experience of PIP, I know from what I read here that you aren’t the only one, unfortunately.
You probably don’t feel up to fighting anymore, but I would say, please don’t leave it. Have you got a CAB you could contact for advice? Especially as the decision was based on lies.
There’s also a search facility on this site and if you looked for PIP / appeal you may find some helpful information.
I would strongly advise that you contact and join benefitsandwork.co.uk/ who specialise in providing the best guides and advice for PIP in particular.
You must also make a formal complaint as its obvious that they dont have the evidence they say they based their decision on. From now on all PIP interviews can be recorded so they won't have as much chance to get away with many of the things they appear to do. I do hope things improve for you.
I second the advice to check out the Benefits and Work website , they have helped me a lot and may be able to recommend a law firm to contact . I know that you must be feeling like you have been kicked under the bus and want to hide away but is there any way you could contact your M.P. and/or local press.
The government are trying to make out that they are doing their best to help everyone but your experiences prove that they just want the disabled to fade away.
Please begin an appeal ,do this for you and you will be vindicated ; please remember you will be helping others who will have been mistreated similarly by this same assessor.
They lied about me too in mine, apparently picking up a kettle shows you can peel and chop vegetables. Therefore they said I lied about having arthritis in my hands when I gave them copies of consultants letters going back to 2007 saying that I had trouble with my hands and wrists.
They have just put me through another assessment after 3 years, the girl on the phone sounded nice but who knows? I was on full, indefinite DLA before they migrated me to PIP, and they didn’t even ask for an assessment when they gave me that.
Get in touch with your local MP and they will listen to you. Don't roll over, it's important
that you stand up to these people, especially when they are lying and they know that it is their word against yours. Fight the good fight. People are committing suicide with these decision's. Hope you have a good outcome. I will be interested to know that you are listened too. Good luck. Regards
