Rash on neck

Hi All,

I have SLE Lupus (amongst other things) and don't have the facial rash but do have a red rash all over my neck which stings, it has been there years. I wondered if this is a Lupis thing?

Hi I have a rash on my neck and was told it was scalp psoriasis and nothing to do with Lupus. However the medication you take for Lupus eg hydroxquine can make it worse. I am currently trying out Dovonex ointment from the Gp to try to get rid of the rash.

HI, thanks for this. I have mentioned it to my GP but she won't comment. I'm seeing a Dermatologist soon and should find out then.

I get the rash on the back of my calves. And it does sting. I put baby oil on it. Seems to help. Everyone keeps telling me it's not lupus, it's dry skin. Ugh! Could be. Only seems to start in the fall and over the winter. I don't think I have it in warmer weather. sorry not much help. Hope you can get some answers.

That stinks. I have terribly wrinkling on my chest from laying out in the sun so much. Not recently, when I was younger. I feel somewhat embarrassed and try to wear shirts that cover or a scarf. I do like scarves. I also have a brown Mark on my face and other brown patches. Can't get them off. Tried dry ice. Didn't work. Lightened it a little. One place said I could try laser. Too much money. I don't know how my body would react to that either. Oh well. I was raised to not be vain, which is good. I am also very spiritual and this is who I am. Had a friend of my husbands go on and on about how good my sister in laws skin looks. She is a year older than me. I was standing there listening. I walked away.

Thank you. I don't really like this woman. She was My husbands neighbor growing up and I think she has a thing for him. Always trying to tell me how to get my difficult teenagers to eat right by positive example. (She has no children , but was involved with small kids at a school as a life coach). I do use positive for eating. Doesn't always work. Both my daughters looked at her like she was nuts when she tried to get them to eat a very rich red velvet cake. (Which by the way, they don't need all that sugar.) what an example...I try not to say anything mean towards her, but when she was giving my husband a shoulder massage once while I was holding both my girls when they were young, I shot a glance that must have reached her. Some people are very passive aggressive. Just trying to survive this illness. My kindness is diminishing a little, and I am getting cranky. You look great too! And on we survive! Take care...

Yes, don't worry about her, plenty of these horrid people around, she loves playing games and hurting people. Wish I looked like that picture now, due to nerve pain I survive on 3 hours sleep a night and look dreadful! x

So sorry Iona.... I don't look the same as my picture either. Cut all my hair off because of my unbearably itchy, red scalp. Wish I didn't. I don't sleep well either. I have been having trouble breathing and lying down in bed. I have my pillows propped up now, and a humidifier. They both help, but I am still up a lot at night. Very frustrating. Having a good nights sleep was my joy. Ugh... Keep moving forward. Hope u r feeling well otherwise.

OMG Natura, apart from cutting my hair off, you could be describing me! I even had an asthma attack this week! I lost some of my hair due to the steroids but have weaned myself off them and my hair is coming back, so pleased. However, the rest of my hair is so dry though! Just treated myself to some Kerastase as it was my birthday on Monday. xx
