I’m really struggling with a flare up. My joints are in agony, to the point where I’m unable to stand up and sit down on my own etc. I’m very drained/fatigue and not sure what to do.
My drs has prescribed a high dose of cocodamol but has made no difference
Can some suggest what they do when a flare up occurs?
Thanks in advance!

If it were me and it worsens then I would try getting an earlier appointment simply because the sooner you catch it in the bud the better. And hopefully the faster you will recover.
Flares are awful. But we must all be as well as we can be during this pandemic to keep ourselves well.
Check in with us and let us know how you are doing.
Get to your Rheumatologist ASAP. I get a kenelog injection when this happens and it does really work. In the meantime just rest and potter about if you can. Listen to your body. Hope you feel better soon. X
I would talk to your rheumatologist. They might want to do bloods and get you in for an examination. They could prescribe a steroid injection or higher pain killers if needed.
They often ask you to do full bed rest for 3-4 days on pain killers to see if this helps before they intervene. This is just to avoid any unnecessary risks from the steroid injection, but if its necessary then so be it.
Hi sorry your having a flaire up at the moment, my flaire ups come from now where but if I were you I would give doctors or rheumatologist a call as they may decide to give you a steroid injection or put you on steroids- best of luck x
I’m so sorry. I know the pain and fatigue can be killers.
While waiting for your doctor, maybe try a good Epsom salt soak in the tub. I always find that takes the pain and inflammation down for me, but it can be even more draining to the fatigue. So maybe a good soak, followed by a nap to recharge a bit? I hope you find relief, however it comes. 🙏
Aww you poor thing. It's awful being in so much pain. I'm in the middle of one of those flares at the moment . The pain is cruel I find using a cold pack helps. Take your pain meds regularly and plenty of rest. If its possible to get steroids from the doctors that will really help too.
