I’ve woken up this morning and on my right hand my fingertips have gone red and swollen and feel so painful and bruised! I can feel them pulsing and it feels like the skin is stretched to its limit (although they don’t look as bad as they feel)
Is this to do with my lupus and will calm down or should I go to a walk in clinic today?
I can’t use my fingers for anything as they are so painful and when I put them in slightly warm water to wash them, they felt like they were going to explode!
Wondering if I’ve got some kind of infection that I can’t fight off due to the immunosuppressants?
Any help would be appreciated as I’m not sure on the best course of action!
Thanks so much in advance!

I agree. I would also get this checked out. It is always best to be safe and reassured. It sounds extremely unpleasant. Do let us know how you get on. Good luck x
Hi did you get to see someone about this yet? My finger tips do this all the time and in my case it’s mix of Raynauds chilblains and related neuropathy rather than infection. I hope yours have been checked out though as could be entirely different reason.
The queue at my local walk in centre was insane! So I took my anti inflammatory tablets, Naproxen and kept putting my hands into cold water and decided that if it got worse, I’d go and join the queue!
But by the afternoon the pulsing had calmed and the swelling starting to go down! And the pain eased!
They are still a bit tender this morning but 100x better than yesterday!
Although, I’ve woke up with a raging cold this morning, which I’m not too happy about 😩
weird, eh? that's exactly how my hands are at times. Not sure why.... I feel it has something my body doesn't like that I am eating. Possibly processed foods. Best thing to do is to just keep the ibuprofen nearby for "those tough mornings"
