Hope everyone is well, I’ve been having some trouble with my mouth recently. I’ve always had ulcers in my mouth periodically and they can be really painful but more recently I’ve started getting blood blisters in my mouth too on the inside of my cheeks. It hasn’t been from biting my own mouth and they come and go (never burst) is this something to be concerned about? I’m still waiting to see my specialist (mid November) would it be worth mentioning to them about my mouth?
Thanks,
Leenie x

I use watered down hydrogen peroxide if the ulcers are real bad. If they’re tolerable I use warm salty water multiple times a day. Best of luck to you🍀
Well worth raising with your specialist at your next visit. I have secondary Sjögrens and recocognise some of your symptoms. I use chlorhexidine based mouth and otherwise use artificial saliva spray to help with dry mouth
Yes, it is definitely worth discussing this symptom with the specialist at your next appointment. We published a blog article on coping with oral and nasal ulcers which you may find helpful to read at lupusuk.org.uk/coping-with-...
Hi Leenie , i have the same problems on and off , i find gargling with warm salt water and apple cider vinegar can help. I would definitely mention it at your appointment.
Yes...i’ve had these all my life. Over the years several of us have posted photos of these here, so i know you’re not alone. Dermatology & oral surgery & my periodontist diagnosed my version of this as Angina Bullosa Haemorrhagica:
But i do have hypermobile ehlers danlos syndrome & secondary which so weakens my vascular system the it gives me spontaneous non-contact tissue bloods (rheumatology call these paroxysmal haematomas) all over my bod, especially in hands & feet...and theses haematoms seem very similar to the big blood filled lesions i get on my tongue & the insides of my cheeks ...after these burst, the ulcers left behind are extremely sore...my periodontist advised me to used gengigel products: these help me A LOT!
