Sore wound

I had an abdominal hysterectomy in January and post op I endured an awful flare that lasted for quite some time. Cutting to the chase..since the op I have been experiencing nasty discomfort around the scar/wound area- I was in with nurse this am and mentioned it to her- she said that it may be that the lupus is affecting the tissue/healing process around my abdomen. Has anyone ever experienced this?

Every time I have had surgery/ dental work.something has gone wrong- infection- inflammation- rashes etc.

Have had problems before, but only recently diagnosed with lupus. So I agree with you that your lupus is possibly slowing your healing process down.

Hoping that you start to heal ,then you can be more comfortable mfortable

It's definitely a slow process. Thanks for reply.

I had a similar surgery in 2014, and the recovery and wound healing took about three times longer than estimated. I have come to expect this now with both injuries and illnesses and, yes, I think it relates to lupus. The good news is that I do seem to eventually recover fully -- no complications or out-of-control infections. Take good care of yourself and try to find something fun to ease the tedium. (I watched a long Spanish series called Grand Hotel on Netflix). I'm sorry you have to go through this.

I had the same as you a couple of years ago, I was advised to stop my immunosuppressants until the wound had started to heal. It was very slow to heal and even now my scar is very red in places. I didn’t have any infection just took a long time.
