So after thinking about it for a while I have plunged in and ordered some CBD oil to try to see if it helps with pain relief especially at night so I can come off the amitriptalyne and also for migraines. Since I reacted really badly to myco I’m currently not on any lupus meds so need something to take the edge off until my rheumy decides what route she wants to take next. I can’t take nsaids and I’m fed up with taking stronger and stronger painkillers to try and sleep at night due to hip pain in particular so I figured it was worth a try.
It’s taken me a while to even try and work out what to order as people seem to talk about the % they take but the sites I’ve looked at talk about how many mg in each drop and I’m not sure which of the 3 types to try first. In the end I’ve plumped to try an aqua formula hybrid from simply CBD at one drop a day and build up from there as it was directly recommended so that way I at least knew what to order and it was at a reasonable price to try before I dive in.
It seems a lot on here are trying CBD for antiinflammatory, pain and sleep so does anyone have any tips as to how to get the most out of it and how they are getting on and has anyone suffered from any side effects?

Funnily enough it was watching that that tipped the balance for me to give it a go 😊 it was very generic though and didn’t discuss different types, brands etc. Angela Rippon tried it for her shoulder pain and said it didn’t cure it but took the edge off which is exactly what my aunt described for her RA. She did admit it could be a placebo effect but I figured it was worth trying and seeing for myself
It will be great when it can be the medicinal kind which is better for ailments, how long the licensing use here will take I imagine will take some time yet... Epilepsy first...
Do search pass responses on health unlocked it has come up before.... Sorry to hear myco hasn't work for you. Hug ml
I tried some but it did nothing for me. I’m going to watch the program later on I player.I really wish they would trial medicinal marijuana here. I’be heard positive things about it from family in the US
Hi Mifford - I saw Angela Rippon on Truth or Scare and although she said taking the oil helped the pain in her arm, she only took this once (after dismissing the CBD cream as useless). I've been diagnosed with Lupus for over 25years and I have learnt (the hard way!) NOT to take any over the counter preparation without discussing it with your Rheumy or Lupus professional first! Honestly, it's just not worth it.
I agree totally Dash discuss with your rheumatologist everything you're taking. There are some things that do not work for us and work against us. Thanks for your comments 💜
2 years ago I started off with Holland and Barrett brand and was so impressed I put up with the awful taste. I have a stronger (%) one now from online recommended company. We all react differently but I can only say I used Cannabis in the 60’s and 70’s (not the awful stuff they have now) and I knew it would be helpful. Angela Rippon didn’t really give it any time and was dismissive of the cream. The cream really helps my poor hands that are split and sore from Discoid Lupus /Sjogrens. The oil I take for sleep every now and then, and when coping with this illness really gets to me. I think anything from a natural source is worth a try. Have you tried Turmeric ? that really is amazing for joint pain. Most Docs are sceptical about CBD oil but it is from the flower of the plant, so non addictive, and most of the NHS are on bonuses for pushing stuff like Statins on to us. Go with your instincts. Good luck.
We have tried both CBD tincture oil and a cream. My wife uses the cream as a topical treatment for various joint pain. Neither of us have had great luck with the tincture oil but the cream does seem to work pretty well. It might be the way to go for your hip.
I found a distributor online that had a good rating. They also have a brick and mortar store close by our home. They market the CBD with or without THC. The salesperson at the local store was very knowledgeable about the product and we were allowed to sample some of the products.
