Still battling with getting ulcers in feet. Fortunately the pain was a lot better and has been manageble up until 4 week ago. I have develepod a new ulcer on right ankle. Pain is very bad first thing in the morning. Steroids increased to 20mg and taking methetrexate plus other meds. Wondered if anyone has experienced this. This is what it looked like 4 weeks ago.

Poor you, how painful. 😔

Are you able to be in compression bandages/stockings to help with healing.

Hopefully which ever health care nurse is dressing the ulcer for you has also referred you to a tissue viability nurse specialist for expert advice.

I have had a very small toe ulcer due to the Raynauds , and that was painful enough.

Hopefully they will look at the whole picture and you will be on the way to healing soon.

Take care 🦋

Oh, that looks very painful. I hope it mends quickly. I get painful open sores on my feet and lower legs but not as badly as yours. I order rectangular fabric wound dressings from Amazon which helps if they get infected but I try to keep them dry and uncovered (and unscratched!) as much as possible. I would definitely speak to your GP for more advice as my sores are minor in comparison to the one you have shared.

Thank you for the info. I have had this for many years unfortunately there is no simple solution. Combination of rest and long-term care plan with treatment of medication.
