One of those nights

I am In so much pain with my joints and I can't sleep. I'm hoping I'm not going into a flare, I've had quite a stressful week so that could be a factor.

What do you do to ease the pain when painkillers don't help?

Just make sure you can get out of the tub or have someone there to help you. ☺

Pay attention to the foods you are, or are not eating. Take a good multivitamin supplement.

Those who have seen my replies will know that i say this regularly. But its for good reason. It really makes a difference.

Sugar is the big one to lose if possible. That goes for sweetners as well which are probably worse.

Processed foods tend to cause inflammatory responses. Bread is also a processed food. Biscuits, cakes, pies, pizza, and most things that are packaged.

That leaves you with fresh vegetables and fruit and meat or fish to prepare from scratch. Some people are ok with dairy but others find that inflammatory. Various types of beans and pulses are ok if you find them digestible.

Limit the inflammatory foods and fill up on those less likely to cause inflammation.

If your diet consists mainly of inflammatory foods try to gradually move away from them. It does mean more time for food prep but it provides health benefits.

Most processed foods have lower nutrient levels. There are more enzymes in fresh foods.

I have Deep Freeze pain plasters to place on my legs and neck and foot. It works enough to send me off. I have Olbas Oil also which helps. I use CBD oil to relax me,. I used Holland and Barrett Jacob Hooy at first but now buy online from a reputable company - purer. There is a lot of stuff out there that is natural and won’t interfere with meds, but check first. Good luck.

Would you mind letting me have the link to your online supplier and the type you use? I tried it before but can't remember strength, just that it was disgusting and not effective! Xx

Hot water bottle may help. Totally get what you are going through. Have had many nights like that but thankfully have recently been better. Hang in there - sending healing wishes

Yes, hot bath.... but add "Epson salt's" to take out the toxins in your body. Try to soak for about 20 minutes.

Also taking "Turmeric" is a good anti-inflammatory that you can take in addition to what the doctors give you. arthritis.org/living-with-a...

Stretches to loosen the "fascia" around your joints, not extreme exercise, just "fascia loosening" techniques that will help to reduce pain in your joints.

Getting a "massage" to loosen fascia in your body is a good thing for regular relief, but from someone who knows what they're doing, not just day feel good Massage – it has to be someone who understands the muscles and the fascia and Lupus or Autoimmune-diseases.
