I am just asking for advice. I have SLE and loads of other things but had a bad chest infection and after three lots of antibiotics two weeks ago I lost my voice and my throat feels as if it has glass in it. My Dr can’t see anything and on Monday referred me to ENT specialist. Yesterday I got a call from hospital asking me to go in this afternoon. Now I am in a real panic
as that is not like the NHS usually have to wait weeks. I just wondered if anyone else has had the same and what I should expect from today’s appointment I didn’t think there was anything else I could have but this is all new to me
Many thanks

Hi Catcon, I have SLE and chronic hoarseness. I also have frequent sore throats feeling like Im coming down with something but it never progresses into anything. Ive been scoped twice by ENT but they didn’t find anything. Your larynx has a joint in it and it can become inflamed like any other joint. I wish you the best in your testing. Let us know what they find. XO, Nan
Good luck with your appointment. It's quite likely that the reason they called you in quickly is that they've had a cancellation - That's happened to me in the past.
Hoarseness here as well and laryngitis with flu year in year out until I was diagnosed with SLE, the meds have helped a lot. Since been diagnosed with Sjogrens and again I'm dealing with a dry hoarse voice that comes and goes. Some days I'm fine, others I dont want to talk as it just makes it worse. Hope you get some answers from the scan xx
