I’ve got my pip appointment next week Tuesday, I’m so nervous about what’s going to happen, who’s had a pip appointment, how was your experience, and where you approved. I suffer from lupus SLE and depression .

PIP Appointment
Hello Tash1987
I had my assessment at home two weeks ago, and posted about it here. It covers most of what happened and there are lots of other people's comments, healthunlocked.com/lupusuk/...
I haven't heard the outcome yet, but tbh, I expect to get turned down. As someone said, getting turned down at first seems to be part of the routine. They hope you will give up at that point. But most people who carry on and appeal do win. Just another hoop to jump through....
Hope it goes well fro you - someone's got to get it! x
You have to tell them how things are using your worst day, how each of your issues affect how you live. You have to think about things in the smallest detail. Along with Lupus sle I have anxiety and depression which affects me to the extent that I rarely leave the house. So shopping for daily supplies is a major thing.
You really have to think about every aspect. Get a notebook and start writing things down so you don't feel flustered.
If you can ask someone to go with you, it may help. If, by any chance, the assessor's report differs from what happened or was said, you have someone to support you. This is assuming you are turned down, ask for a mandatory assessment and ask also to see the assessor's report.
It's very stressful, but concentrate on what you said on the form and remember to talk about your worst day.
I hope it goes well
Thanks all for the comment
Hi.
Just make sure you tell them that you cannot do much at all.
Housework, bathing, cooking, walking, stairs, sleep disturbances, etc.
Don't leave anything out.
I was lucky in my assessment. The nurse helped my reply to questions easy.
It helps if you have a copy of a future health appointment.
They like to know if you are still under a consultant for your condition.
Hi Tash1987 hope your well xxx.
I've had the pip assessment just last year & it wasn't a nice experience!! Over an hour after getting interrogated by DWP's Health Assesor who never even took my SLE LUPUS into consideration bare in mind they have already put A tick to 3 quarter's of your form before you have entered the room, only for them to go through every question on that form it's a disgrace. However i wasn't awarded it & had to appeal. That was another long drawn out process. They Never Awarded me anything for LUPUS even though I've been attending the hospital do 23 yrs with my LUPUS. I got the standard rate for my panic attacks & Depression NITHING for My LUPUS OR MY RHEUMATOID ARTHRITIS THAT IM CRIPPLED WITH THROUG HAVING THE LUPUS. Good luck I hope you get on okay God bless xxx
Thank you, I don’t feel like going now, because I don’t think I I will qualify
Hi Tash1987, I'm waiting to hear from them about an assessment appointment so I absolutely understand how stressful the wait can be. I almost talked myself out of applying for PIP for the same reasons that you're giving for not wanting to go to your appointment. Someone on the forum asked me "what have you got to lose?" so I went ahead with it. I'm keeping that in mind and am planning to just go to the appointment when I get it. It can be useful to hear about other people's experiences but it can be equally frightening so I've stopped looking. No two assessors seem to have the same approach. I'm planning to stick very closely to what I've written on my form, take a copy of it to refer to and will have someone with me. Everyone here will be with you along the way and will offer support when you're feeling vulnerable. You're a superstar for even filling the forms out in the first place! Whatever you decide, there are many of us with you ❤
