PIP Review - supporting evidence

Hi everyone

I’ve just received my dreaded pip review form. My question is does everyone here send supporting evidence with their form. I currently receive pip with 2 previous reviews and Ive never sent any supporting evidence previously, pip I assume got this from my Rheummy and GP. I know my GP practice is very busy and I would dread requesting for a copy of all my medical letters, as there would be tons! Can anyone give me some advice on what I should do?

Thanks everyone 🌸

When my review was due (adult disability payment) I was asked if anything had changed or not. If no change then just sign, if there was a change then you had to detail this and provide supporting information. If you didn't have this, they would contact your GP/consultant. Information from family/friends is also considered 🌹

That sounds alot more straight forward than the pip review form, which although not as detailed as the first claim form, we still have to explain again how condition effects us etc even though nothing has changed! As far as Im aware they do contact your GP and Consultant anyway so I do wonder how much impact providing my own evidence has, my guess is they base most of their decision on feedback from the medical professionals. As I said on 2 previous reviews I sent no evidence and at my review they said they had all the evidence needed from my medical team.

Crazy having to explain again when you're saying nothing has changed. This was my first review, so not sure if anything will change in future. Nothing would surprise me 🌹

I’d join Benefits and Work website

search.app/AVbisz9mjqf1NHa79

And purchase their guides which will tell you exactly how to fill out the forms and what to send with them no matter what you have done before. Dont chance it as things change all the time.

You should be able to get copy of your letters by logging on to your online medical record at your surgery. You can get all your blood tests and consultant letters.

Hi Star, I find my surgery seem to be a bit and miss when it comes to loading up my letters on their site/NHS . They seem very slow . Or missed them. They have even loss letters as well which is appalling.

I think your right, I cant risk not sending anything. Unfortunately my GP surgery records are not linked to patient access so it all has to be done by the surgery and as you can imagine it wont be a welcomed request. But I’ll think it over.

You only need relevant letters, more recent and ones that list your conditions, which most do these days and confirm diagnosis. I think I only sent two which stated what I thought covered and backed up what was on my form.

Oh that’s reassuring, I have 3 or 4 that all state diagnosisis and current meds etc, so fingers crossed this will be enough, as if our conditions ever just disappear, just so unnecessary putting us through this stress over and over when nothing is going to improve. Can I ask how did you get on was your review successful?

My last “review” was taking me from DLA to PIP on which I was already on an indefinite award. When that was done I didn’t get a review date but I understand that it will be 10 years as I’m over 65 and will be classed as light touch. I’ve always used the B and W help sheets and been successful on all occasions, even the dreaded assessments! I hope you are too.

Aww glad to hear everything went well and you were successful. Im the same I had an indefinate dla award then transferred to pip and thankfully was awarded but only for 6 years, how time has flown by, so here I am again praying it all goes well again for me. But honestly how they feel we need these constant reviews just angers and frustrates me so much!! Absolute waste of time and energy for us and them! Take care 🌸

Hi

Yes send evidence but you don't need all GP evidence hospital letters are best .

You can print them off patient access and epic my chart

Give as much detail as can it saves time ,letters with diagnosis on treatment.

I put surgeon names etc the hospital never replied in end ask me more info.

Based on bad days all best

Hi Glad you got a review and hopefully went well. I was refused PIP and disability as I can walk. Yes lots of questions. Didn't get as far as a GP or Rheumatologist supporting evidence. I've had RA for about 11 years and apparently not eligible. Now 66 and pensioned so no chance. Thankfully I've struggled on working and will soon get a pension so all good.

Any evidence you send make sure you put your national insurance number on it..every sheet to make sure it doesn't get 'lost' . You can ask your pharmacist for your prescription list too n send that. When you've completed your form copy it so I can refer back to it on your assessment then next time you can write more or less the exact same things noting any deteriorations.Best of luck with it all n I'm doing the same right now so know that you're not alone coz I'm in the review process too on both pip and universal credit!! DWP have been the bane of my life this year. 🍀

Wishing you the best of luck with your review, thanks for the helpful advice - wouldnt have thought about writing NI number on the evidence!! I havent started the form yet as I cant bring myself to look at it til after xmas - its due back mid Jan, so will complete it bit by bit. Its a long drawn out process from now til hearing their decision so just need to stay positive and not stress too much, good luck ✨⭐️💫

You're most welcome. I send the form back recorded delivery too so I've got proof of posting. This is all advice I've got from citizens advice website. Best of luck to you too 🍀🙏
