I am looking for advice and tips on how to manage stiffness in my hands and feet. I have been diagnosed with lupus for 3 years and am currently 35 weeks pregnant, meaning I can’t take naproxen etc which I would previously take.
The pregnancy hasn’t been a simple one with my lupus flaring so also on steroids as well as Azathioprine, Aspirin and clexane. My joints have been getting increasingly stiff especially my hands making simple things hard. Just wondering if anyone had any things I can try while pregnant to help?

Ask your doctor if you could take B complex. That helps me but with the pregnancy you still have to be extra careful. Try to eat dark green veggies. Avoid red tomatoes and potatoes these are really acid and make you get joint pain. Hope it helps. Congrats on the baby
Try (with the ok of your Doc) a natural simple remedy of Olbas Oil - rub it into your hands and after a couple of minutes it eases them. Bio Freeze gel is also very good and less smelly - my Osteopath uses it on my sore limbs. Both of these products contain menthol, eucalyptus etc - Good luck
Hi Rosie - sorry to hear you are in such pain. I can empathise.. but I can take pain killers (although they don't help hugely as only paracetamol and ibroprufen). Silly question maybe, but do you drink a lot of water each day? Should have 3 litres as day. healthy-joints.net/nutritio... . and oily fish if you are able plus the healthiest diet you can. but no Alfalfa sprouts as this (for sure!) brings on flares/lesions etc. Hope that helps a little.
