Need free gym

I normally use my local community leisure centre (swimming and gym). I would prefer swimming but the present state of my fingers makes it very difficult to get changed. Getting my fingers wet is also a discomfort.

My mum recently signed up for using all the facilities in the leisure centre (£19.50 per month direct debit). I use pay as go so if i want to swim i will pay £1.80 and to use tje gym is £2.80. Some weeks i go 3 times (maximum) it sounds easier to have a direct debit but am sceptical about it. Because lupus is unpredictable. I might be active in one week and the rest of the month i am not be able to get out of bed. I just cant afford it monthly but i wish i could have free access to the gym.

Is anyone aware of a way i could apply to get free access to the gym. The cost of using gym is the discouraging factor. I will be more committed if the fiancial aspect is sorted.

Thanks and God bless.

Regards

Hi ijeasike ,

Sometimes GPs are able to prescribe free or discounted gym memberships on the NHS for people who are obese or have a chronic health condition that could benefit from regular physical activity. It may be worth discussing with your GP?
