Good morning. I just wanted to share a new discovery. Read thyme in hot water (I add it to my tea), can help against bronchitis, and ironically “lupus” was added to the statement. I have tried it before when my husband had bad chest congestion when he got the flu this year. He recovered quickly.
I drank a couple yesterday, and my breathing improved tremendously. I have been having terrible lung inflammation for awhile now.
Not only can I breathe better, but my back pain has subsided. I live with terrible tightness down the entire right side of my back. It causes me a lot of distress. But, today, I woke up for the first time, with no back tightness.
Coincidental? Might want to give it a try. Fresh thyme probably the best. If on medicine, always talk to your doctor first for interactions
Have a pain free day 😊

Glad you have found some benefit Natura, that's great. To help others, here are some possible contraindications with Thyme. I believe herbal preparations have their place, but I always attach a caveat to this, just because it is natural, does not make it safe, some herbal remedies can be as potent as medications doctors prescribe.
Allergy to oregano and similar plants: People who are allergic to oregano or other Lamiaceae species might also be allergic to thyme.
Bleeding disorders: Thyme might slow blood clotting. Taking thyme might increase your risk of bleeding, especially if used in large amounts.
Hormone-sensitive conditions such as breast cancer, uterine cancer, ovarian cancer, endometriosis, or uterine fibroids: Thyme might act like estrogen in the body. If you have any condition that might be made worse by exposure to estrogen, don’t use thyme.
Surgery: Thyme might slow blood clotting, so there is some concern that it might increase the risk of extra bleeding during and after surgery. Stop using thyme at least 2 weeks before a scheduled surgery.
Interesting. As I have a clotting genetic mutation, this would be beneficial to me. Never read anywhere about thyme mimicking estrogen. I will look into that. Thanks for sharing
