Hello sonika
When my dry eyes were that troublesome, i asked my gp for referral to nhs eye clinic. The ophthalmologists there did baseline tests and gradually figured out which combined therapy prescription treatment plan could help my early onset sjogrens dry eyes most. 4 years, into treatment, i'm 63 and now on this combo, which is helping a lot:
Hyloforte drops at least 6x daily
Artelac nightime gel
MGD eye pad treatments daily
ikervis ciclopsorin drops before bed
I do still see my optician annually for vision tests, retina scans etc (he specialises in immune dysfunction patients). And i'm seen in eye clinic at least every 6 months
Hope something in there is helpful. Am sure you'll get great replies

I really like Systane Ultra High Performance Lubricant Drops (preservative free) as well as OccuSoft Retaine MGD Complete Dry Eye Relief. I use these in conjunction with each other. Both are OTC.
I also use an MGD eye bag that I can microwave to get warm and place over my eyes to unclogged my glands. Gentle massage along the upper eyelid releases the gland oils once they are warmed. Search MGD EYE BAG and you will find it online.
The most significant eye drop treatment I have experienced is Xiidra, which unfortunately, is currently only available in the US.
This drop has been nothing less than life changing for me. I hope it makes its way to all parts of the world (I'm sure the manufacturer is working on that).
Hi Sonika786,
Have you spoken to your GP or rheumatologist about this?
In Sjogren’s syndrome inflammation of the tear (lacrimal) glands results in fewer and poorer quality tears. This makes the eyes feel gritty and dry. We published a factsheet on ‘LUPUS: The Mouth, Nose and Eyes’ discussing different treatments available for dry eyes which I hope will be of help to you: lupusuk.org.uk/wp-content/u...
Please keep us updated, all the best.
