Yes, I've started having very dry skin, especially on my face, recently. I posted about it here - some of the replies might be helpful? healthunlocked.com/lupusuk/...

Hi Susie

I use Eucerin, it contains Urea. It's classed as a medicine, so maybe chat to the pharmacist about it first. It's not cheap at around £13 per bottle, but the bottle lasts about a month. You just spread a very thin layer over the skin and leave it. Over the following few hours your skin gets softer. It's not like normal moisturiser where you slop more on to get a better result. By the way it stinks!

I have this badly too. Was prescribed Diprobase. Used it for months with little result. I changed to Nivea Creme - my skin much improved ! Just find something that works for you. I buy the smallest size to test. Good luck

I have this as well, and sometimes I get eczema. My scalp can get especially bad. I used to run a bath and body products biz, and so I have a bit more insight in some products that work well for skin issues if you're interested. I use jojoba oil, argan oil, and add some of that to my body butters (I can get away with scented but some people really cannot). I used to make soap for people going through chemotherapy and with really bad psoriasis, and a combination of jojoba and evening primrose oil worked well. A little goes a VERY long way, so even though oils can be pricey you can make them stretch. I was my face using Oil as Soap method, and jojoba most closely resembles the sebum in your skin. However, some people may find it too heavy to use, and I would therefore recommend evening primrose oil added to a prescription. Be advised you need to keep evening primrose in the fridge - it will go rancid if you're not careful. I had a batch that smelled awful when I opened it from a rather dubious supplier!

For my scalp coconut oil, jojoba - I'm mixed race and dry hair is already usually a problem, so using this combination isn't greasy for me. I put it on my scalp after washing my hair, and will dab and rub in during the day. Use sparingly.

And, because I'm me, I add cosmetic grade glitter to my body butters - small, finely ground so it doesn't irritate skin. If I'm going to need to hydrate my skin a lot, I'm going to look FABULOUS.

I always use moisturizing shower gel and a loofa in the shower and rub down with Aquaphor afterword. It's thick and greasy, but for me I swear it is the best thing on the market for dry skin. I am even use it on my face and it doesn't cause my face to break out and works better than any expensive wrinkle cream I've ever tried. Good luck!
