Nose sores: Hi I have had sores up my nose for... - LUPUS UK

Hello Crawford
That's a long time to have nasal sores despite your GP's attempts at treatment.
What cream did your GP prescribe? Did she send a nasal swab for lab analysis to check what bacteria are involved in any infection so that she could prescribe the right topical antibiotic?
as I understand it, my nasal sores are related to SLE & SLE-caused small vessel vasculitis. My sores are much less of a prob now am on an effective combined therapy lupus treatment plan. So, if my nasal sores were flaring & spreading & persisting despite lab analysis & targeted antibiotic treatment, I'd ring my rheumatology clinic's lupus specialist nurse to ask whether I need to adjust my lupus meds
Paul Howard at Lupus UK head offices is hosting his topic of the month discussion here on this very subject (as well as oral ulcers) ...several of us have joined in...so there is quite a lot of good info sharing (eg I give my details of my therapeutic maintenance nose ulcer treatments with ENT-recommended Neilmed Nasal Rinses etc + topical antibiotics naseptin & bactroban so I won't repeat this now in this reply) ...here is the link:

Wishing you relief from these awful sores soon!

Hi Crawford, I use oxygen and I have had a few nasal sores the last one in January 17. The sores crusted over in both nostrils which made it difficult to breathe.
My GP gave me oral antibiotic and Naseptin 15mg cream to apply and within a week it cleared.
I do hope you will have some relief with the right treatment soon.
God bless π
