I'm confused.

My lab result came back 33.0 iu/ml. The results said negative. Also saying that anything over 100 is positive.... I'm reading online that my numbers intact are considered a postive...

Help me Understand please...

I would suggest you talk to your doctor about the results. All labs have different values and a number that is normal at one lab is not at another. That's why you need expert advise. The best of luck to you in your journey.

Hello. Nanleighh is right, I think you need to speak to your specialist again. If you don't have an appointment coming up soon I would suggest speaking to his/her secretary or your Rheumy nurse / lupus nurse for further explanation. Good luck.

It's very difficult to understand as it's checked in different ways i don't understand the numbers you have been given , i was told that anything over 9 indicates lupus i had a score of 120 when i was first diagnosed and it's varied a lot over the years it's currently in the 80,s .

I meant to say 33.0 iu/ml not 0.33 iu/ml. Sorry.... but that's more so I'm still confused... why would they say it's negative

I don't know they must be working on a different scale if they are saying anything over 100 is positive , i have heard that some check in a different way but i was told that a normal healthy person has about 7 double stranded DNA in their blood and they say if you have more than 9 you have lupus , i would mention that to your doctor and ask how they have worked yours out , sorry i cant be of more help i asked about this on here before when someone else had a reading that was odd , noone seemed to know the answer .

I have a rheumy appt in just over a week- my dsdna came back at 38. I’ll try to update you with what she says after my appt. The range next to it says 0-300, but I’ve researched like crazy and I think a result in the 30s is a weak/low positive.
