Eyebleed
Oh bless you, its quite scary isn't it? I have had this happen too, I also often get a completely blood covered white of my eye, the entire thing which is even more worrying. Apparently it is a haemmorrage of the blood vessels. and even more suprising its apparently nothing to really worry about unless its painful or your sight is affected
my feeling is that you should mention this to your gp, ophthalmologist & rheumatologist
Here is my story:
my gp had been telling me that my version of bleeds in my eyes was benign. For years I believed him. He let me have chloramphenicol eye drops to use when it happened, but told me I really didn't need them. Sometimes pus would also gather in my lower lids when these bleeds occurred. Often I had a virus cold at the same time, with flaring sinusitis (I've had persistent flaring sinusitis all my life). Bear in mind, there are passages connecting our eyes with our nasal passages. So bleeding can occur between these parts of the body
Anyway, these bleeds in the whites of my eyes reoccurred off & on for several years in my late 40s-early 50s before finally Rheumatology recognised my version of lupus, at which point we discovered I'd been diagnosed with lupus as an infant in the states
A year or 2 after the recovery of my Lupus diagnosis, I was referred to NHS eye clinic where opthalmology consultants diagnosed Sjogrens dry eye including inflammation of the cornea. The daily combined therapy treatment plan seemingly put a stop to the bleeds in the whites of my eyes...but they remained very bloodshot. 3 years passed...then this year a specialist cornea expert consultant saw me at eye clinic and told me those bleeds in the whites of my eyes were actually due to my cornea inflammation filamentary keratopathy. He presribed immunosuppressant ciclosporin drops because my cornea inflammation isn't damping down sufficiently after 3 years on my first line prescription dry eye treatments.
I was a bit surprised by all this. So I went home and did a bit of research....i discovered these bleeds can also occur with scleritis...and even vasculitis. My suspicion is that there are several other causes of bleeds in the nose/eyes
So please do let your medics know you're experiencing these signs & symptoms

I have had nose bleeds all my life. In fact as a child my nose bleeds every day for 2yrs. It stopped for a long while but since 2012 my diagnosis. When I flareup especially with bad headache I will definitely have a nose bleed. The bleeding eye is abit scary to me. Lupus comes with alot of package.
Merry Christmas dear. I hope u enjoy it. I have a chest infection so am on antibiotics. I am also flaring up(butterfly rash, swollen ankle, swollen lips, sore & shiny skin half way from legs to ankle and Raynaud are getting sore again. On a lighter note I told it(lupus) won't stop me from have port on Xmas day and most definitely Guinness on 26th. Take care and God bless.
Ijeasike.
I guess what scares us partly depends on what we've learned to live with...others' versions of lupus often scare me more than my own 😏. Bleeding eyes did scare me at first, but now this doesn't frighten me, mainly because I am monitored regularly at an eye clinic which has stood the test of time quite impressively...i know I can SOS this clinic any time & get immediate attention, or attend A&E at the same hospital where my eye clinic notes can be accessed
Will be imagining you downing that port & Guinness: YAY 🌟🎄🎉💃🕺❤
Sorry this worried you. In the corner of your eyelid you have a small hole called the punctum. This is connected to the nose and back of the mouth. It's purpose is to drain away the liquid that keeps your eyes moist and of course tears. This would result in the nose bleed and build up of blood being expelled through this hole when you sneezed. I wouldn't worry too much about it. Hope it helps.
I have frequent headaches with nose bleeds and eye bleeds. I also have sjogrens. This could be benign but please mention to your gp.
