The skin on the side of my leg is very sore when touched and also hurts when I move my leg. It's appearence has not changed but it feels as though it is slightly burning. This isn't anything I have suffered with in the past though. What could this mean?

My skin is sore on my leg
I have this on my right thigh, it is sore to touch even if brush against anything, although not injured in any way, I have osteoarthritis and seemingly this may be due to this. there is a long name for it , but cannot remember what the doctor called it.I just take my meds and hope it helps. hope you get solution
I sometimes get this on the inside of my forearm, back of my hand or various areas of my trunk. It usually lasts no more than a day or two before disappearing. My GP said it was paresthesia and didn't seem to concerned as it doesn't last long enough to warrant investigation.......
Burning pain sounds neurological to me. I'd suspect a pinched nerve in your lower back.
Obviously it's not an emergency right now but it bares talking to your Doctor about. In the replies above, someone mentioned paresthesia . They are probably right. Going on 10 years ago, now, although it seems like yesterday , I was on my way to work and I moved slightly and my bacell started burning , slightyou. By the time I got of work, it was horrendous. I left work, and I paced our room, over and over constantly , all night. I thought I had irritated a nerve in my back Thacker exited over my hip bone. I figured I had compressed it and now I was suffering the effects. I won't go into the details except I was in bed for 3 months with my left thigh feeling like someone was constantly burning the flesh off my thigh! I lost my job and my thigh has never been right since. Fast forward 6 years. I had ruptured L5S1 and went to a new Neurosurgeon , he was looking at the MRI'S and started asking questions about my right thigh , come to find out, when I thought I had compressed that nerve in my thigh, I had really ruptured Lumbar L2/3.
My point is, you never know!

Weird, I've had this on and off on the side of my right thigh for years. It's where the seam would be if I was wearing trousers. It always seems to get worse during a flare and when I'm pre-menstral. It hurts to touch it even lightly and it has stopped me lying on my right side altogether.
I'm under the care of the pain team and he did explain something to me about it when I last saw him but it was a bit of info overload on that day. I'll ask again for some clarification at my next appointment and feedback to you.
Side of thigh? I have this as well, doctor said it's likely nerve pain from low back.
I know with lupus we get weird flares and yes we get pressure flares from tight clothing but I did have something similar about 25 years ago after having lupus for about 10 years and not fully on a med that was working with me. I had a burning thigh and very painful for about 1 or 2 months. I saw my Rhumy and he couldn't see anything so couldn't help me. A few weeks after it started to turn into red lumps then ulcers started to develop so I went into a walk in clinic and the Dr told me it looked like lupus nodison which I think they call it something else now but he gave me some naproxen for a week or so and it cleared up and never came back. It may be something similar I hope. I still get pressure hives but never anything like this. Good luck.
I have similar pain, it seems like my skin will peel off at any given time. at first my drs said it was steriods thining out my skin. i ve been off steriod since december 2016 but i still ve it. i have a color change half way in my leg down my ankle. at d end of everyday my leg are swollen, hot and very sore. i ve been treated 4 cellulitis with antibiotics. my niefedipin has been reduced to 60mg once a day.
It is all the bagage that comes with lupus. talk to ur dr they may just need to adjust ur meds abit. take care and God bless
