Finally! Lupus Clinic here I come :)

After months and months of chasing drs to help me with my discoid and multiple appointments each week within the months and months to help nail down what my body is trying to tell me and after doors being slammed in my face....I got the glorious news today (x2!)

I got my intake appointment with the Lupus Clinic in Montreal! And I owe a member on here a very grateful thank you for leading me to it.

After my referral being denied by the immunology and internal medicine clinic here in Hamilton, I felt like I was at wits end. However, my partner remembered me talking about the post on here and how the one member had to assertively push to go to this clinic in Montreal and the good outcome it had for her; he took it upon himself to call them and explain my situation and if they could help....only 4 business days later....I got the call for my appointment!

November 30th can't come fast enough! Plus it will be a nice mini getaway as it is a 7+ hour drive.

And! I called my mom, who also has lupus, in hopes she would answer my call and provide me with a list of all her conditions. She has been ignoring me for years now (she is like Jekyll and Hyde, one time she loves me the next she hates me...but that's ok, she is still my mom :). Anyway, we talked and shared dr stories and complaints and more.

Beautiful day today it was for me :)

Hi Lara

Great news you got your long awaited referral and you've been reconciled with your mum. Keep us posted how you get on. Hope the appointment goes well. X

Misty,

I was reconciled with my mom... yesterday....I'm sure if I called her today she would refuse me!

It is believed she suffers with borderline personality disorder. It is just who she is! I love her none-the-less and super grateful I was able to get more family history from her :)

Hi Lara

Sorry it must be so hard with your mum's problems!. Wonderful you still love her come what may!. Could I ask who is the doctor your seeing ?. Do hope it's worth the long wait. You could try for a cancellation if it gets tough. Best of luck. X

Hi Misty,

When Is asked the girl on the phone, the name of the doctor, she told me she didn't know as there is a panel of lupus specialists. She explained it could be any one of them or all.

As for my mom, meh, I accept her ways. Sad thing is, I am starting to notice myself developing her. Angry, nagging, critical one minute then loving and feeling guilt for my behaviours the moment before.

I am SO VERY LUCKY to have a wonderful supportive partner. He understands what I am going through and when my moods hit. He is patient, wise and unconditional.
