I had to send mine off before 11th December and got home assessment on 8th Feb . I had to go to tribunal . Won it . Be 4 weeks this Thursday still haven't had back dated money . Good luck with yours

Sorry for rant, but honestly!

I was quite lucky I think cos in my area no centres so a lot of home assessments. I only waited about 4-5 weeks. Still waiting for decision but trying not to think about it.

I had been 'invited' to apply for PIP as I have been receiving DLA and had my assessment about two weeks after I sent my form in but I have been waiting now for seven weeks and still no result. I have had a text and a letter a few weeks ago telling me that they now have enough information to make a decision and the one apologising for keeping me waiting! My heart starts to race when the brown envelopes drop though the letter box only to find they are wasting trees instead of getting on with it! I am trying to convince myself that all is fine because I had the same when I applied for DLA and the result was good, no appeal, but I can't help worrying.

It's open ended and variable how long you will wait for a reply as they are so behind!. If you have any problems contact Citizens Advice , hope they helped you fill it in. Good luck. X

PIP stands for Personal Independence Payments which are a disability benefit in the UK. gov.uk/pip/overview
