Hi everyone! Let's remember the coming world LUPUS day! Can we do something to raise awareness! If we can manage!!. I am going to be wearing my Purple LUPUS T-shirt! I'll be wearing my purple t-shirt too. Anyone in Scotland should watch STV - a very special young lady called Abby Louise Tombs is going to be interviewed - having done a skydive for Lupus on Sunday!!!

I haven't told most of my work colleagues that I suffer until now. I have made an information board about somebasic Lupus fact & the work of Lupus UK & we are trying to raise some money for them over May - collect boxes, selling raffle tickets, collecting stamps/ old watches etc.

Really didn't want this to be about "poor me" but to raise awareness & funds. Going well so far!

I hadn't thought about wearing purple. I need to check my wardrobe. I always wear my purple Lupus wrist band. I usually take cake (homemade if I've had a good spell but shop bought will do if not) into work and tell everyone they can have a piece if they buy a raffle ticket. I put the information poster up in my staff room too. It all helps doesn't it. I always think, it helps raise a little funds, gets people talking about the symptoms etc. Like you said, none of us want sympathy, just understanding and raising awareness in general. If it helps get someone diagnosed that bit earlier.......
