Adults benefit from fish oil and ubiquinol but that's just a general recommendation, not specifically for lupus. Watch out for iron overdose with the floradix. Other than that sounds like you're covered.

My rheum suggested selenium as people with RA and lupus tend to be deficient in this mineral. I also take B Complex, Vit A,D, and E, and acidophilus.

Hi , I take vit D3 and vit B6. I found the B6 helped with the dizziness and feeling of being 'off balance' .

Hi Belee. Do you take Adcal because of taking Prednisolone. How much prednisolone, do you take? I'm taking 10mg prednisolone and still have to take adcal 1 tab chewed once a day. I 'm also taking multivitamin, just normal ones. Has anyone tried /heard of high dose vitamin D3 as mentioned in this site NHF.

I take D, because I take prednisone. Also B complex, and fish oil. I also take probiotics because with my lupus I have IBS.

Hi Faithing-it, reply from Jeff BOT as far as I know Ubiguinol is for the over 50's not sure how old you are but check on that. if you want iron supplement that does not irritate your stomach you could try a product called Spatone it's a natural iron-rich water it comes from Snowdonia in North Wales look at this website spatone.com mix one sachet in glass of orange juice as it absorbs quickly just not red grape juice. I couldn't take the tablets as they caused me stomach upset. Conventional iron supplements only 10% is absorbed into the body! veg i.e. Broccoli/Spinach 15% is absorbed! Spatone 40% is absorbed. I would never use anything else. Tesco, Holland and Barratt sell it but it's been on offer since 2014 at Tesco for 3for2. Take care Nx

Omega 3 fish oils. But only the Omega three and not Omega 6 or 9. Omega 6 which is the plant one can deplete omega 3 essential fatty acids. Omega 3 are very important for the immune ssystem. I found this out 20 years ago when my son at age 10 was diagnosed with SLE with kidney involvement. I had read somewhere that EFA's maninly omega 3 was good for the immune system. I started giving them to my son and the reanl paediatricians literally scratched their heads when my son's kidneys responded so well to treatment and he never got sick after chemo. He recovered fairly quickly and well and even though he was on treatment for years he continued to play cricket and tennis. Today he still plays sports and lives a normal life with occasional flares.

Omega 3s produce hormones that are anti-inflammatory. Omega 6s produce hormones that support inflammation. In the last 100 years or so, our diets have changed remarkably with the advent of industrialization. We now consume manufactured corn, soybean, and safflower oils (Omega-6 sources) and much less fish and wild game (Omega-3 sources). Due to our drastic change in diet, we now observe a 25:1 ratio, whereby our pro-inflammatory Omega-6 fatty acids dominate over our anti-inflammatory Omega-3 fatty acids. So it is important to be getting the omega 3.

Our booklet, ' LUPUS and Healthy Eating' includes information about having a good, healthy diet for people with lupus and it includes a section about vitamins and supplements that you may find helpful. You can view the booklet online or download it from our website at lupusuk.org.uk/diet-and-exe...

Please be aware that due to the varied nature of lupus, what works for one person may not work for another, or could be potentially harmful. To avoid potential side effects or interactions with treatment we would recommend that you speak with your doctor before trying any new vitamins or supplements or making radical changes to your diet.
