Bones hurt

Woke this morning and all my bones hurt....I am on holiday in Spain and think it's the heat that's done this....I've been very careful not to sit in direct sun and always wear high factor....has anybody else had this??? X

Oh bless you not nice on holiday is it. Do you suffer with fibromyalgia as well as lupus ?because when I go I'm the same I always find the humidity makes me worse . Hope it settles down for you & you can enjoy the rest of your holiday x

It's suspected I also have fibromyalgia. ..

only got today to go...staying out of sun completely. ....took painkillers so hopefully will feel better soon..x

Yes I experienced that in Jamaica in Feb 2015. I flared from 3/9-4/21/15... It was brutal!!!

Have you had your vitamin D level checked?

Before I went on a cruise to the Med June 2014 I saw my Rheumy and asked him if I could have my Vitamin D level checked and while I was away my bones were aching so much but I decided not to say anything. When I got back there was a letter waiting from my Rheumy to say I need to go to my GP for a prescription because my vitamin D level was very low.

It was very sunny and hot and I just couldn't think why my bones should be aching so please ask to have your Vitamin D level checked. The doctors don't automatically have this checked but because I use factor 50 sun screen I knew I wasn't getting enough vitamin D from the sun.

Yes, I experience this in this country and only a few weeks ago when the weather was hot and humid - not nice!

I've had SLE for over 20 years and have always understood that anyone with lupus should never go in the sun because it will flare up their lupus.......still not completely sure, but have to say at I'm now in my 50s and one positive is a good complexion.
