I get strange looks when saying my "bum bones" are the most painful. Car rides and virtually every chair makes me wince, as well as lying on my back. Ischeal tuberosities. I wonder whether saying that to medics make it clearer? Research so far on google shows that it can be a runner's or cycle rider's problem (not guilty) and that my theory that getting more weight on there might help, but won't.
Ah well, back to the recommended gentle physiotherapist's suggestions. Building up the wasted muscle can't harm the hips and pelvic pain. π
Upper arm strenth is pretty good though. Heels of hands lifting myself off my backside has done wonders by accident π

Hi....is muscle wasting part of lupus? I have terribly weak muscles. Just joined a gym. Get stronger for a minute, and the next day its all gone. Like I have to use weights every day. It doesnt stay.
I don't know if the muscle wasting is part of lupus. In my case the auto immunity problems started with upper gastric and swallowing proplems, causing a very big weight loss and weakness, hence less and less general exercise. It's generally thought to be a result of that?
The muscles in my hands are like a infant. I cant even open or unwrap anything anymore. Its embarrassing for me to ask people to open everything for me even a piece of peppermint candy wapper.
I am embarrassed that I was walking down a staircase this weekend from a hotel room. Granted the staircase is wooden and leaning (at the beach) ...last 2 steps, I tripped because I had worked all day and I was just tired by 9 pm. Probably my fault, my legs wouldnt work. I was using gravity to get me down. Ugh!
thanks for that my hips have always been my most painful joint and since September my right hip was getting so sore that nothing really relieves it and it's uncomfortable all the time .. sitting, standing, even lying down. I've seen a physio recently who has given me some exercises to do she things it's inflammation in gluteal muscles and tendonitis in that area. Only been doing the physio exercises for around 10 days so a little early to tell if thay will help. A TENS pain relief pad has helped give some relief
Yeah I have this problem too - it pretty much made riding horses impossible as my 'sit bones' would ache. Can't ride a bike, can't sit in certain chairs for too long.
