I feel your pain I have same problem .go every three weeks for mine ..not nice very painful .and annoying especially when you want to wear nice shoes...
I've got two - I think they are warts - they are not painful at all (thank goodness) so I just leave them be. I wonder if yours might be warts and a different treatment might be more successful?
Molly19, I have callouses on both feet and I finally determined it is a corn with a hard center on the top of my 4th toe. I need a W I D E toe bed. The pretty shoes seem to be made with more narrow ones. I have a pair of fly flot sandals that aren't bad. I also wear shoes with support for the arch. I found contradictory information coming from podiatrists. The last compounded ointment creates a wet area that then becomes athletes foot. I have found that foot powder with salicylic acid is a no go. I never wore the heels or pointed toes that they say leads to foot problems. Walking barefoot in sand seems to wear the hard surfaces down. There was a time I had Plantars warts on the bottom of one foot. I regularly soak my feet in epson salts and rub with a pumice stone. This all seems to be a lot of work when some people just put their shoes on and go. I do have SLE.
Just to say I sypathise with you, I have similar problems and It's a misery, tbh I've never found a solution, I've got thin splitting open skin under the heels but on the balls of feet, I have thick hard skin with the corns underneath the thick hard skin, very very painful to walk.
The only thing I found to helped (paliative), is to have the corns cut out and then use a a scholl pedi gadget with a buffing roller that spins. If you can use this every couple of days after a bath, then use a seriously strong cream like Hemp butter from bodyshop, twice a day, this will give you some comfort. It's time consuming but if you can get into a routine, it could help. Best Wishes, Claire
