Finally had gp appointment today . I had 3 issues to discuss , the rash , pain and swelling in joints , occipital pain and headaches. The rash had actually died down a bit over week though still itchy , he thinks it is due to photosensitivity as rash is on arms and stops at tee shirt line , a new problem for me . The joint swelling and pain and occipital pain could be a flare related to bout of food poisoning 8-9 weeks ago , maybe it triggered photosensitivity as well ?
Gp prescribed a stronger hydrocortisone cream to use over 2 weeks , i have to use a moisturising sun screen, and an anti inflammatory that i have used before thats easier on my stomach. He also wants me to contact the rheumy nurse and discuss this with her as well . She might be able to get physio quicker for my neck . Im due rituximab again in December, it can’t come quick enough at the moment as I feel as if im heading down hill again.

Hi weathervane, glad you've had a good consultation with your GP and he's given you cream for that rash. The food poisoning could well have triggered the photosensitive th as it can trigger flares for us!. Looks like that's what you've got now and sorry your Retuximab isn't due till Dec!. Long time to struggle so I hope the Rheumy nurse can help too!.
I had a good consultation with my new GP again. He is easy to talk to. My blood glucose was normal so no diabetes thank fully. Low blood sugar is sorted with diet now , I'd cut too much down!. He wants me to talk to Rhdumy about adrenal insufficiency and I've got my appt on 23/10 so not long!.
Hope your son is improving too. Stress can play a big part in lots of illnesses. I showed my new GP my current list of symptoms and he said stress!. Jury is still out on him!.
Thanks misty, the gp was extra attentive as he had a student with him . Im glad your blood sugar is normal again , so your problems were due adrenal insufficiency 🧐 will that be hard to control ? Hope your gp will prove to be a keeper as we are so dependent on them for help , best wishes xxx
Thanks weathervane for your good wishes. I don't know about the adrenal insufficiency until I speak to my Rheumy about it next week. I'm doing my notes and a diary of my symptoms as I need his advice. Do hope the new cream helps. Fingers tightly crossed. Xx
Good luck misty , it’s nerve racking trying to remember everything so notes and a diary are a great plan , i hope all goes well and you get answers . Im keeping everything crossed for you, please let us know how you get on xxx
Thanks so much weathervane, it's worse than a job interview don't you think as it's our lives!. A lot rests on this as I've not seen him in 10 months!. I will keep you posted and you take care too. Did I see your having the flu jab this werk? I'm having mine on Friday!. Dread it!. Xx
I have considered probiotics in the past but i take so many tablets the thought of more did no appeal . I probably should reconsider now , what do you take , if you don’t mind me asking ?
Thanks louise, I don’t drink or smoke either, i do have a terrible sweet tooth though 🍰 . I will check out symprove tomorrow , i have IBS which i have under reasonable control so it will be of benefit there too . Best wishes xx
Thanks Shorthouse , im going to check out probiotics tomorrow and get started on one . I don’t get many tummy bugs but i am on rituximab so my immune system is compromised unfortunately ☹️
True answers make a difference! I haven’t had my bloods checked for a while so don’t know if wbc is good or bad . Will see if will check it when in for flu injection. How are you keeping this week , I hope things are good xx
Using the stronger hydrocortisone has made a difference already! Gp said to use it for 2 weeks, hopefully I won’t need to as it does thin the skin . I put it on and let it dry for 1/2 an hour then i put on the moisturising sun screen, i put on diprobase later in the day .
