Steph:

With Lupus it carries a lot of other diseases. I also have low hemoglobin, plus Raynaud's syndrome plus MDS plus ITP plus Hypothyroidism. I also get pains in my ribs and sides of my ribs and a rash on my stomach and no energy. I was diagnosed 4 years ago. I am older than most of you - I am 71. Went on a cruise and got really sick one day. Had labs yesterday and platelets are down to 40 and hemoglobin down to 10.9. I am seeing my doctor on Tuesday - in the morning I am having secondary cataracts lasered and seeing him later on. They've tried dexamethisone and it worked for 4 weeks and then back again to the 30's and 40's (platelets). It IS a very depressing disease and most times, I wonder why I am still here. It's not a good life. Things change from one moment to another. A few days ago I started to get tremors. Now what's that??????? Every day I wake up and wonder whats in store for me. I'm truly getting pretty fed up with living this way.

Hi Steph

I too have just been diagnosed with osteoporosis as well as having other things wrong. Sadly for us it comes with our steroid treatment so it's a constant juggle of risk versus benefit!. Are you having treatment for it?. Calcium and or Biophosphenate drugs?. I hope you will feel better about it knowing your not alone on this Forum. Have a look at some of Barnclown's replies, might help. X

Hi Steph

Are you on steroids trying to keep the dose as low as possible?. I find this is hard too and I was upset to get the osteoporosis diagnosis but over time I've come to terms with it as you will too. A few years ago I felt exactly as you do, overwhelmed at having so much wrong with me, wondering how I was going to function. The good news is you do . Sharing experiences on here is so helpful!. Take CareX
