Going to Lupus meetings in your area.

Hiya,

I just wanted to say how helpful meeting up with others is, I attended a group meeting with the South Wales Lupus group last week and came away with so much more information from others who understand how I feel and do not judge me.

It is so reassuring to share your experiences with others and also to chat about how this condition affects us.

I just wanted to mention this, as, if there is a group in your area it really is well worth going along, meeting people and making some new friends. So go on, get along and join a group and attend a meeting!

Hi, this is something I would love to do - meet others in a similar situation. I am in the north east - Gateshead to be specific, and contacted the north east lupus secretary but unfortunately there are no meetings as no one used to turn up :-(

This website has been fabulous - it's amazing how 'normal' I feel after reading other people experiences.

I was only diagnosed with SLE at the end of June, but have had a bit of a journey to get here - starting off with a diagnosis of uveitis - which brought its own challenges!

Think I may need to take the initiative and try to organise something ... Hmmm food for thought.

Thank you for sharing your positive experience. :-)x

Hi, Manolo33

I started TEESSIDE lupus support group and would be pleased to meet and chat about our experiences. We have not yet had a meeting but will be pleased if you can join the group. I was diagnosed with Lupus in 2003 and have had other illness connected to it. Keep on keeping on and take care. Xx

Ah that is fabulous, I would love to join your group. Thank you.

Now the 'novelty' of having a label as opposed to simply a load of mismatched symptoms has worn off I am feeling a little lost. Thanks again. Xx

To Manolo, so glad you find the site helpful, and also really glad I posted this blog as thanks to Pipido36 you can now join up with others. I'm sure it'll be really enjoyable. All the best both.
