Body Vibrations Night Terrors

Finally .. it seems I'm not the only one.

For the last three years i have suffered and endured the many sleepless nights with this body vibration. It all seemed to start with what I now know to be RLS ... restless leg syndrome. This then progressed to my whole body. No one can see this except you.

Its a mild vibration that resonates the whole body. I have had everything checked .. ct scans .. xrays .. mri .. brain scans. All checked ok. But the problem persists to this day.

Like i said its relatively mild .. but bothersome enough to stop you being able to fall asleep .. simply because you cannot keep still. It doesnt happen every night .. although I've had sessions that last a whole week long. Leaving me tired .. lethargic .. drained and grumpy.

Reading previous posts on this subject it seems I'm not alone. To all my fellow sufferers. I urge you to stay strong and take courage .. we can beat this.

Although i have seen many similarities .. i have not heard anyone mention their eyes watering.. this for me is the precursor .. hence i know whats coming.

Usually starts with several yawns .. eyes start to water .. a lot ... and then what my wife and i have named the ... "Heeby Geeby's" .. here come the terrors..

Trying to fight it is hopeless .. I now just get out of bed .. make a cup of tea and read a book or whatever to cause a distraction .. and then try to go back to sleep. This works sometimes .. at other times i could repeat this several times.

This post is getting long .. so I'll try to wrap it up.

In addition to all this my wife has noticed that i also re enact my dreams .. not just arm .. leg and head movements but facial expressions as well.

The body is supposed to be in paralysis when you enter deep sleep .. not the case for me apparently.

Further more i have been diagnosed with severe sleep apnea and now use a cpap machine which has reduced the amount of times i stop breathing from 38 times per hour to just 1.5.

This is a work in progress ... and im determined to get to the bottom of this one way or another.

And when i do i shall pass this on in a future post.

Thanks for sharing. Do you ever experience that shaky feeling during the day, especially if getting stressed out, or is it only at night? And if only at night, does it/can it occur the second you fall asleep? One last thing, are you experiencing sleep starts (hypnogogic jerks) as well?

Hi ... it's been a long while now and here is my update. It was all getting way out of hand and i was losing control and it was affecting me in so many ways.

Made a conscious decision that it had to stop .. it was going to stop. I put this notion in my head and repeated it constantly. Stopped all medications. Time to take back control.

Now I'm not kidding i was deadly serious about this and i was going to make things change for the better. And this is how i did it.

1. Adjust my diet .. simple plain nutritious foods with a junk day every so often.

2. Selected just ten Tai Chi moves done daily

3. Introduced some basic yoga.

4. Meditation .. this took a while because my mind was always so active .. but i got there.

5. Only go to bed when tired and ready to sleep.

6. This last one is very important .... talk to yourself ... words are only words right .. well say what you want .. i am healthy.. i am in control .. say anything positive that you can think of .. and MEAN IT.

It's been 6 months now .. the jitters are gone. Once in a while when i go to bed i can feel the onset .. but i say NO ... not going to happen .. a few calming breathes .. relax my body ... and fall asleep.

This is how i tackled this issue .. and for me it's worked.

I am grateful.
