I have internal tremors when I sleep. They wakes me up at 3 am and are in my chest. I have them every night and nothing seems to help..I have to get out of bed and walk around to get them to stop. Sometimes it takes 20 - 30 minuets for them to stop after I get up. I then go back to bed and they wake me up again from a sound sleep..Have tried many things and nothing stops them. Sometimes I feel the in lots of places in my body and in my head also. Wish I had an answer and a cure. The Doctors just say not my area of medicine and blow me off. I've had this problem for 10 years, and it's getting worse. Used to wake me up at 5 am.
I'm new to this site.

Considered doing a sleep study? I would look for a sleep specialist to see if they find what is causing these abrupt wakings, could be parasomnia. If it’s just due to anxiety, getting anxiety treated if your not already may be helpful as well. A sleep doctor can help you with both, although he may also suggest and refer you to CBT-I as well.
I have done the sleep study and it showed a small interruption, but I did not feel the tremors while doing the study it was such a short time and I had a hard time going to sleep. After they gave me 2 sleeping pills, still hard to get to sleep.
So sorry. I would keep looking for a doctor that won’t keep passing you around. I’d look at a Neurologist. My sleep specialist is actually retired from practicing Neurologist who went into sleep speciality and he quite amazing. There is surely something interrupting your sleep that needs addressing. Hope you find out the reason. Best of luck.
I have the same thing going on..mine are in my back mostly and sometimes feels like my head or chin too...wakes me up at night then I get up and it goes away...I go back to bed and can’t feel them and then get woken up again with them. Now and then it stops completely and I can relax..started a couple months ago...thought it would go away but seems to happen every night...I guess it’s time to go to the Dr.....let me know if u find out anything since I have the same thing...I’m hoping it’s not something like Parkinson disease...
Well internal tremors do occur with Parkinson’s from what I read anyways..(I’m definitely no expert)..mine has only been happening for a couple months so I haven’t gone to a neurologist yet...is that the only thing you have going on is internal tremors?...10 years is a long time without your dr sending you to a neurologist...I can feel mine when I’m sitting in a recliner too...seems mainly in my back but they move around from lower back to shoulder blades...definitely weird...I’ve had ringing in the ears forever but now they seem louder not sure if the two are connected...
I've had this of & on a few years. Stops when I awaken. Try cutting back on caffeine. Too much Starbucks effects me this way. Sugar consumption too. Read article said take Magnesium 2X a day. May take month or two. Worth a try. Dr's. just look at us like we're weird. Good luck!
There is literally a thread with hundreds of comments on here started by someone named Rob. In summary there has never been a cause found and it’s not a disease or deadly or anything. Stress can 💯 cause it. Mine went away after a couple months when I finally accepted it. Very occasionally it will happen. Try to relax and embrace knowing it’s not anything bad. I went to Mayo Clinic and had everything under the sun. They said it will go away eventually and it did.
I have spent the morning reading all of these posts about internal Tremors.....I started having them about 10 or so years ago myself... mostly in my chest sometimes it feels lower in my stomach..if I wake up once ..I have it once ..if I wake up 3 times ...I have them 3 x !! ...and have had periods of time that they kind of went away or didnt happen as often ...in the past 2 years the tremors apon waking happen every night ...never really have figured out if they wake me up or if i just have them when i wake up ... I find that if I get up and walk around or find a way to distract my mind it helps me ...it really helps to know that others are experiencing the same thing .. I dont really talk to friends or family about it much , as I know they would not understand ...I know I'm not crazy and I know my doctor believes me but she is baffled as what is causing this ..I have had a heart monitor 3x in the past 10 years ...and recently had a sleep study all were normal ...mine started after I stopped taking antidepressants (due to side effects )which could be a coincidence.....i do take klonopin for anxiety ....it is very scary ...my doctor said what ever it is she feels it is not life threatening....today I have read some things that have given me hope ...I think the advice to just accept it and not fear it is something I will work on ...that certainly helped with my tinnitus...would love to hear how you and others are doing ? ....my best to Everyone 🙂
